Cheap hotels in Padam

It was beyond wonderful to stay with Tenzin Thuktop Lay and Sherab Lhamo Lay in their comfortable and cozy homestay. We were fortunate enough to arrive during the morning of a puja - how peaceful to heat the chanting of monks from the other room. So many wonderful things to list that my mother and I liked/loved during our stay. Sherab Lhamos Ladakhi cooking excellent! We were able to have my favorite dish twice during our stay. The place is quiet and peaceful and away from the business of the city. I really enjoyed talking to Tenzin Thuktop about the changes in Zanskar and exchanging some Tibetan language with him. This is easily one of my favorite homestays I’ve experienced. You’re given just the perfect amount of privacy and quietness and then the evening is nice for chatting. The dining area is communal which is nice to speak to other travelers - if they’re not stuck to their phones. The bathrooms are extremely cleans and very very hot water. I can’t wait to go back and stay for month while I explore the area more on bicycle and practice my Tibetan language.
