Our stay was wonderful! The cottage was cozy, warm, and had everything we needed. A special highlight was their two amazing dogs, Freya and Askur—such gentle and playful companions. Our 3-year-old absolutely loved playing with them (more than an hour in the cold), and it was such a nice touch to have dog toys in the cottage. The location was also perfect, with windows facing the northern lights direction. After three winter trips to the Nordic countries, we finally got to see the northern lights—right from the comfort of our warm cottage at 1 AM! It was truly a magical experience, and we were actually sad to leave.

Property was easily located. Once inside very clean and comfortable. Many “extra” details noted including charging area, some toiletries. Soft towels. The sofa bed converted easily and was large and comfortable. Would be great as a low key getaway but also a nice home base for a small family. Games, maps and information on area attractions all available. We easily could have done much of our touring from there.

The restaurant served up some delicious duck confit & chicken leg. It was one of my favourite meals. It was also located right on a pretty private beach that was an excellent spot to view auroras. I appreciated that the room had a good selection of teas & coffee. The owners are not very particular where you're parked so parking spaces were ample.

This hotel offers relaxing outdoor hot tubs, an 18-hole golf course and activities such as whale watching and snowmobile safaris. Reykjavik and Snæfellsnes National Park are a 1-hour drive away.

The staff greeted us cheerfully and asked us if we wanted to see Aurora. It was really nice. The facility was better than expected with warm outside bath and sauna. There seemed to be a lot of other guests, but once we were in our room, we did not hear other rooms' noise. Great breakfast as well!!

The Lake House was amazing, and far exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, VERY well stocked, had a Premium DeLongi super-automatic coffee machine, and the hot tub was perfect. We sat outside, both in the hot tub, and on the back deck, for hours watching the Northern Lights. This was the absolute best night of our trip.

Beautiful and cozy home! Spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated, and very comfortable all around. The views were fantastic too. Nice hot showers and really handy to have a washing machine. Great location convenient to the Golden Circle, the wonderful Hvammsvik Hot Springs just across the fjord, the Snaefellsnes Penninsula, and an easy drive into Reykjavik. We were lucky to see incredible Northern Lights multiple nights during our stay, and also enjoyed many beautiful sunrises. WiFi and TV worked seamlessly. Excellent communication from the hosts. We look forward to staying again someday!
