Beautiful location with very new and well designed facilities. Although we slept in a tent, it was as comfortable as any hotel rooms. If you are walking the Nakasendo, this place is ideal to stay between Nagiso and Nojiri. We woke up, had some breakfast and started walking right away. From the hotel, you can spend a good 3-4 hours in the beautiful woods and villages of Nagano. The owners were very helpful pointing us to the best route to Nojiri and giving us guidance on train schedules etc.

We were only in this property for one night, but I wished we could have stayed longer. The house is absolutely beautiful and authentic. It's very close to the station, so very convenient! The art on the sliding doors is gorgeous, the kitchen is very big, the rooms are spacious, and there's a beamer, which we used for watching a show and winding down after a day full of hiking in Nagiso. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

We loved our stay. This is an upper floor unit with balcony view over the beautiful Kiso River and the mountains. The unit works well with kitchenette area, living room, bedroom area and an additional area that can be closed off with floor mats and used as a second bedroom. Check in was very easy. The property is immaculate.

It was AMAZING. We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

Well... That was an amazing stay guys! Atsushi was so nice and welcoming, speaking great English, and he drove me to Magome - the beginning of the trail. The house is a beautiful traditional house, very minimalistic and pleasant. Everything was so beautiful and comfortable! One thing you need to mind though - the village is very small, and there's nothing to do in the evening. Even finding open restaurants for dinner after 7pm is quite impossible

It was perfect. Directly on the Nakasendo Trail. The hosts were communicative and gracious. Made sure we had beautiful bento boxes for dinner since it is not near any open dinner accommodations. They even offered to pick us up when we were running behind. I highly recommend this beautiful home. And the picture is dated. They have made some physical upgrades since this picture was taken. Wonderful traditional stay with all your needed amenities.
