It was for the cheapest price in town and a very local experience. All the families/accommodations I met a long the way of the horse trek were hearth warming and Bik Bul my guide was nice and patient with me and thanks for teaching me many Kirgish words! The host is very welcoming and easygoing. As a medical professional, she knows about hygiene! Some twin and single rooms are interconnected (so you have to pass through someone else's room to get to yours, or someone has to pass through your room to get to theirs), with no door locks that i could see, so semi dorm level of privacy.
