Bawa Inn Wow! What an awesome stay with Fahad and Begum and their family. We felt welcomed right from the start when we arrived. Our room was awesome spacious clean with an amazing balcony and view. We were delighted when Begum and Farad responded positively for our requests for meals. They provided the best vegan meals with awesome Sri Lankan curries and my favourite Sambol yum 😋. Farad had the best Sambol recipe I have ever had. Begum was a master of vegetables and jackfruit curries. Farad also was our tour guide in his brand new Tuk Tuk and took us on so many great tea adventures plus a wonderful trip to the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. He was a calm amazing driver and he also drove us to our next stop near Ella. Honestly Haputale is a much more authentic highlands experience and Bawa Inn was exactly what we wanted … a Sti Lankan guesthouse with awesome hosts. Thank you 🙏 Begum and Farad.

The team at Capoe house do a great job of keeping you happy and entertained. There is a butler that will meet your every need also with an amazing management that keeps the place tidy and beautiful. Food was good, I would recommend going for full board at least.

This is our second time in Haputale. This time we chose a wonderful modern hotel, not far from the Adisham monastery. For my wife and me, this place is one of the best in Sri Lanka. Beautiful nature around, where you can climb the mountains and walk among the tea plantations. No crowds of tourists like in Ella, you can only see tea pickers and local women with bundles of firewood on their heads. We had a very nice room with a large balcony, huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a fantastic view of the mountains and lakes. The visibility from the window is more than 50 km. There is a table in the room to work on the computer. The hotel offers excellent breakfasts and dinners. The choice of dishes is simply huge, you don’t often see this in most hotels in Sri Lanka. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Thanks to Hashan that everything is perfectly organized and working, for his willingness to help in any situation. The hotel left the best impressions, we will definitely come back again

To begin with, I love Nilowin this place a lot. It was so amazing to stay at this lovely and beautiful place with full of love, help and support from the family Saman,Shan, Madushi, Sujatha and the lovely dog mummy Ruby and puppies. 1. For me, I always care more about the people of the place. And about Nilowin, it’s just amazing to have met this lovely and warm family. Saman, the older brother who is not only just the host for me, he also tried to give me a lot of good tips about traveling Sri Lanka, like sharing the route of trekking around our place to the railway trail, and also accompanied me and another guest to the top of tea plantation to see the nice sunset and also walked through the village, and also he shared a lot of good ideas about his cooking school plan and showed me the kitchen and garden he is going to build etc. And Shan, the younger brother is really fun and interesting person and always prepares the food I love for me everyday and also took me to the Sunday market to buy fruits and tuna, and when I go out of Nilowin, he always drives me to the station and when I come back he will pick me up. And Madushi, the wife of Saman , she is a little bit shy but super cute and friendly and helpful, yes , she even taught me how to cook pork curry with potatoes ( I love it a lot even though it’s super spicy). And Sujatha, the mother of two brothers, she is also lovely and likes smiling a lot every time when she sees me, and one more thing about the mother Sujatha, she cooks so tasty food , onion sambol, egg hoppers, rice and curry , fried rice, western breakfast, milk rice , coconut rotti etc, I love all the food she cooks. And the dog family Ruby and puppies just make my stay at Nilowin so happy and full of sweet memories, I love to hug them and pat them, and every time when I open the cage for them , I love to see them jump on me and kiss me, they just warm and melt my heart.

The genuine hospitality and friendliness of the host family. I usually stay in hotels and this was a very different, nice experience. Meal prices were surprisingly low and the lady of the house who cooked for us was flexible enough to provide our requested choice of meats which is rare in local homes who normally provide only chicken and fish. We stayed two days here .we had more information and a popular tourist destination arrived. Mr sameera is the best person we met .he told us about the tour plan. He is also doing a hidden nature tour haputale and we travel with him. He is a very knowledgeable and very good local guide . The room was very clean and I think the best view in Haputale is here. Night time breathtaking views and the most beautiful seanary is the train moving . You can see the main city in front of the room. Service and hospitality is best here.. I really recommend it here . Try to visit again. I hope to stay in another beautiful room ( still not built)

Wow! I only have great things to say about this place. The clean, great location and hospitality of the room was incredible. The lovely lady, Kalai, who owns the property is incredibly sweet and humorous. I was the only guest staying here for 2 nights and she treated me as part of her family - even making me breakfast on the day I checked out. I 100% recommend this stay to any other traveller. You can also rent a scooter for a small fee to explore further outside of town.

Friendly family who welcomed us with a tea as soon as we arrived. Great views from our balcony and an ideal location. The hosts were super helpful in helping us plan our time in Haputale and provided scooter rental and great advice. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed having breakfast with such wonderful views. A great stay with very good value for the money we paid.

Incredible location with amazing views, the cottage was very clean with nice smelling sheets and towels. The whole family made me feel welcome and particularly Shirodh was very accommodating throughout the stay and insightful during the Lipton’s Seat and plantation tour. There was tea and cake on arrival and the homecooked meals were a delight. A great experience of Sri Lankan hospitality.

This is the best place I stayed during my 2 months in Sri Lanka. The location and the view are stunning, in the middle of the nature, the family who runs the guesthouse is extremely friendly and helpful, they do everything they can to make you feel like home since the first moment you arrive. The food is without a doubt the best I ever had in this country, the rice and curry is just delicious and always freshly cooked. The rooms are very clean and have amazing view, everything was perfect

Affordable rooms. You get what you pay for. Located in a very picturesque location surrounded by tea plantations. The views around the area are amazing. You can catch a bus to get to the Haputale town and/or Lipton seat, or take a stroll around the plantations to spend your time. There is also a small rotti shop quite close by if you want to grab a quick bite.
