As a budget option, this shines exceptional as being clean and having amazing staff who really go the extra mile for you. It has good ac and a private bathroom with shower. We bought a package to include meals and river tours. The river tours were fantastic! They even arranged a special long tour for us to see pygmy elephants! The food was good too.

We had a great few days at this Homestay. The family of Mr Bam was great. The river was high which made this Homestay a bit more comfortable than some on the river (some flooding). We did a lot of cruises and saw a lot of animals 4/5 of the Big 5. The water levels made seeing crocodiles very difficult as there was no terrain for them to hang out. Rooms were rustic but comfortable. Overall a great experience! Thanks!

Sukau village view stay and backpackers offer different activities including river cruises and jungle walks. The guides are brilliant, really knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. We were lucky enough to see all 5 of the big 5 on our river cruises, the highlight was definitely seeing the elephants crossing the river! Everyone at the hostel was really welcoming friendly and helpful, and we definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the Borneo rainforest. Meals are available too and the food is really tasty. There are also local restaurants along the river - we went to Restaurant Simpang Tiga (next to the hostel's jetty) and can recommend this too

Step back in time, beautiful people HaNa is a wonderful host who helped us many times.JD is a natural tour guide who cares deeply for the jungle and the river, both speak English well. Rooms are basic, bed toilet, air con, shower but comfortable. The Malay food is cheap, tasty. and plentiful. It's a family BnB, and the tours were fabulous. Saw lots of wildlife and the jungle walk is beautiful. These people work hard and we highly recommend this place

Basic equipped clean room at a lovely peaceful location along the river. Restaurant along the river has a nice view and food was good and cheap. Jadie is an excellent guide and definitely has the eye & ear for finding all animals around. I wished I could have stayed longer.

Basic room, but this was what we expected. Good AC and warm shower. The owner picked us up from Sepilok and brought us back to Sandakan. Cheap private transport and we were able to stop at a shop on the way. The owner was very nice. Service 10++. The trips were successful and the owner as a guide was professional and pleasantly calm. Breakfast was noodles and egg and coffee, simple but delicious. The restaurant has good food and affordable prices.
