Hotels that guests love in New York

“Great location in midtown Manhattan. Rooms are clean, but not very cosy and very small (no space to lay your suitcase open). Probably good for friends and if you're travelling on a budget (hotels in NYC are not so cheap after all...). If you have a romantic and comfortable trip in mind (like we had) it's less suitable.”

World Hotel

“Good only for Solo travelers or on tight budget, it is very small room but clean and cozy (use ear plug), shared bathroom are ok... but china town is cheap and the best U can get good tours offer in front of the hotel!!”

Midtown Convention Center Hotel NYC

“the bed was the best part, super comfy. one of the best hotel beds i've found (particularly in a cheaper hotel). the primary appeal is proximity to the convention center in winter, and it was both close and inexpensive. hotel staff was quick to fix issues and friendly. breakfast was included - not a large variety of options but satisfactory and free.”

Hudson New York, Central Park

“Beautiful original decor in the room. The rooms are small but gorgeous!! Spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need (unlike our disastrous Airbnb!!!). Friendly staff. Fab location right in the centre of all the hustle and bustle of NYC, close to Columbus Circle, NY Met Opera, 9th Ave, Hell's Kitchen, Central Park etc!! Nearby eateries were excellent and cheap! An inexpensive stay - we will definitely return!”

U.S. Pacific Hotel

“It was very cheap and the location was great! Rooms and towels were fairly clean too, it's a fine place if you're traveling on a budget, just don't have any high expectations.”

Chelsea Cabins

“Cheapest and friendliest place to stay in NYC. Not luxurious, and very close to neighbouring guests (no ceilings), but good for budget travel. Free vegetarian breakfast. There is a spiritual agenda (booklet included in room), but in no way pushing anything over your head - just a friendly request not to eat meat in the place. I stayed at other low-budget places in NYC, where I did not feel welcome and was charged extra "hidden costs". This place is not about making money - you actually get what you pay for.”

Manhattan Bowery Lodge

“Good location, and very cheap for Manhattan. Suitable for a budget traveler who needs a place just to sleep.”

The New Yorker, A Wyndham Hotel

“Excellent location in central Manhatten, handy for all the attractions and very close to Penn Station which made travel from JFK easy and inexpensive. Concierge arranged vehicle to get to LaGuardia also very good although not cheap ($65 for 3 of us). Facilities good (but extra charge on bill). 1930s Art Deco building.”

Central Park West Hostel

“This is a hostel and not pretending to be a 5 star hotel. Cheap and cheerful bed in a shared room for the night which was just what I expected. I would stay again if I needed to be back on a budget. Staff were friendly and I seen them help many people with their issues such as flights. Warning: Don't take someone you wish to impress.”
