The hotel is in the middle of a forest, and the view is stunning. Staff are extremely kind, professional, and generous. Rooms are huge and equipped with everything needed. The Tyrona park is 10 min walk.

If you’d like to be part of something bigger, it’s a good place to start. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating! The place was clean, set up well for travelers and in a great part of town! It was especially nice being able to talk to an expat Justin, who was quick to show me all of the areas i should check out. The set up and price make this a great place for someone passing through for an evening like myself or for a more long term stay there in Santa Marta!

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments. I loved the service; it was incredibly good. The hotel is in the best location, half a block from the beach, it has a private beach, and it’s 5 minutes from the Arrecife shopping center, which makes it very convenient. It’s very comfortable, you feel totally relaxed, and they make you feel like royalty. Highly recommended!!!
