It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Ideally set in the historic La Rochelle, this 17th-century building overlooks the old harbour. Hôtel De La Monnaie is decorated by artworks and features a terrace and a wellness centre. The parking on site is limited and available upon request. The hotel is located close to the port and the Tour de la Lanterne, very central but also in a tranquil area. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, well equipped. The breakfast is exceptional, with a great choice of both sweet and salty food.

Royan Golf is 43 km away and Notre Dame Church is 47 km from the bed and breakfast. Wonderful rooms furnished with style, extremely helpful and nice hosts, beautiful garden, jacuzzi and a cute cat. What else do you need for a perfect holiday? We only stayed one night but I could imagine a whole summer in these settings.

Perfect place for a lone traveller to explore the area.

Had all the facilities (even a washing machine!!) it was clean and had extra towels, blankets and pillows under the couch that came in handy for the four of us. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property and private parking is available on site. Saintes Train Station is 40 km away and Royan Golf is 11 km from the aparthotel. The property was clean and comfortable. It had all the required essentials. The balcony was big. The sofa bed was also very comfortable. The location close to the beach and to the shops and restaurants was great. The underground car park was safe and secure with some good size parking places.
