Especially the Japanese style tatami room we really enjoyed. We never waited once for toilet or shower use the whole time we were there. The kitchen area was inviting and great to work from. The staff were very kind, and even though we had a misunderstanding at the beginning of our stay, in the end, everyone was very nice. Everything is quite close in Aizu to the hotel, the only downside is how far it is from the main station.

Great value for a hostal style accommodation in a ski resort. The bunks are double size with warm blankets. The bath downstairs is a welcome retreat after skiing if you don’t fancy the 7 min walk to the local onsen. Well worth it. Check which one with Rio. Note it shuts at 7 pm but the baths in the hotel remain open. Rio has an array of beverages in his bar and restaurants are easy. Just go nextdoor ! Thank you for your hospitality Rio. Private parking is available on site. Extremely splendid experience. We did not expect much other than having a clean room per person and a big-and-comfortable public bath (Daiyokujo). On top of that we get free evening soba noodles, free drinks (unlimited apple juice) and free ice after baths, and free massage chair service. The whole place is also beautifully decorated. Not to mention that the room price is extremely low, that the place is at the city center, and close to the train station.
