馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou ligger i Nakatsugawa, mindre end 1 km fra Toson Memorial Museum, og har en have, et fælles opholdsområde og en terrasse samt gratis privat parkering. Rigtig god beliggenhed. Hyggelig bygning med en tidligere skole, rent og pænt overalt. De har det mest fantastiske personale, som gjorde alt for at gøre alting nemt og behageligt for os. Stedet har en skøn backpacker-vibe på den gode måde. Vi elskede at være her, og vil gerne tilbage en dag!

We had a wonderful experience at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic in Nagoya. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, restaurants and public transport. The room was modern, spotless, comfortable and with great city views especially at night ! The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful (they help us to ship our suitcases to the next city in Japan). Breakfast was delicious, offering a mix of Japanese and Western options, even sparkling wine for a cheeky morning breakfast glass. The main hall combines style and privacy. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nagoya.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. Absolutely amazing! Our best experience in Japan! The ryokan is so well let and well decorated, and everyone was very accommodating and kind. The onsen was also great and breakfast was delicious. I would come to Takayama again just for the chance to stay here again.

Lovely, modern, wooden building that was a perfect respite in Koguchi. Our host also made an amazing Japanese traditional steamed meal, and a real spread for breakfast. Shared bathroom was surprisingly not an issue in any way. No in terms of waiting, nor in terms of hygiene. Though I suppose that depends on fellow guests as well, as realistically the host can't be cleaning up immediately after every guest, so we were lucky. We didn't use it but there is a bath as well.
