The units at the guest house come with a seating area. At the guest house, the units are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. Had a lovely stay at Lonnoc. The family gives such nice hospitality and Sylvie really takes care of you. The beach is stunning and I spent hours snorkelling the reefs just in front of the place. They were so appreciative of tourists choosing to visit them and it really helps their community. It was fun playing with the local kids who are so kind and hilarious! Pleaseeee if you can, bring some games with you for them, like education jigsaws or they’d love a new football! They were sooo happy when another family brought them gifts! Manage your expectations for this sort of remote accommodation as it is very no-thrills (cold shower, intermittent solar electricity etc) but everything worked and was clean/organised. 10 mins walk from Champagne beach (1000vt) or you can also kayak there with their free kayaks (1 double and 2 singles). Getting there needs some forward planning. Most shared vans or taxis only go UP north in the evening from Luganville, and go DOWN south in the early morning. It cost 1000vt in the shared vans, but if you wanted a taxi outside of these time you’ll struggle and be paying 5000-8000vt or hitchhiking (common)! You could also do a private day tour stopping at Nanda Blue Hole, then up to Port Olry then down finishing at Champagne Beach (Lonnoc) which cost us 12000 total for the whole day and got to see other things too. Overall it’s a great place to spend a few nights, manage expectations for remote village living, plan the arrival in advance, and enjoy the local culture and scenery!

Featuring a private beach area, garden and views of sea, Matevulu Lodge is located in Luganville, 24 km from SS President Coolidge. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Had a lovely few days here. Felt very relaxed in the beach huts right on the beach, with some snorkelling and exploring the lagoon. The host is really nice and helpful, planning lots of trips for us (scuba diving, daytrips, transfers etc) and great local knowledge. The kitchen facilities are really good for self catering, and the breakfast was fresh (especially loved the pancakes one day!). The water is also safe to drink. The showers have hot water too, the WiFi was very fast, and reliable charging facilities. The location is perfect for visiting the blue holes easily (all 1000vt entrance). They have kayaks and SUPs to use. For Riri Hole (my favourite), it was amazing to paddleboard up the super clear river to the blue hole. And for Matevulu Hole it was only a 25 minute walk from the lodge. Transfer from the airport costs 3500vt total, but includes a stop at the supermarket for supplies (it’s difficult otherwise!) and SIM cards. Get cash out at the ATMs in Santo Airport. Overall a really great option for a short tropical escape whilst also experiencing lots of stunning attractions nearby. Thanks so much to the team!

Set in Luganville, Lope Lope Beach Bungalows offers accommodation with pool with a view, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. Guests staying at this aparthotel have access to a patio. The aparthotel has family rooms. Great set up; our bungalow was well-designed, comfortable, had all the conveniences needed, including a gnerously sized deck. Liked having a swimming pool to cool off, a cabana for lounging around in, SUPs and a beach with reef within paddling distance, and a freshwater creek next door. The location is perfect – close enough to Luganville to pick up supplies, but nice and close to Matevulu, Riri and other famous east coast Santo attractions. Owners were very helpful and attentive, and the breakfast on the first morning was a nice touch.

Situated in Luganville, 13 km from SS President Coolidge, Freshwater Plantation Farm Stay features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a terrace. Among the various facilities of this property are a restaurant, a bar and a tennis court. Free WiFi is provided. Our stay at the freshwater Plantation farm stay was absolutely amazing! The bungallow is so beautiful, it is situated directly on the beach and has an amazing sea view. They also have a super nice restaurant, with delicious meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Try the chicken Parmiggiana! We really enjoyed the evenings with Vini and Klaas, to talk about interesting topics by a glass of wine. We did the diving at the coolidge, while we stayed at their accommodation and they drove us every time and picked us up. We also went snorkelling, right in front of the bungallow and the reef is pretty decent (we even saw morey eels and lion fish). It grows back slowly after the cyclone.

A short, palm lined walk through a few small resorts and farms gets you to Champagne Beach. Hands down the nicest beach I have ever seen. Lonnoc Beach itself is no slouch either. Wendy our host organises car trips to all of the other attractions nearby. Notably the Nanda Blue Hole and yet another 10/10 beach, Port Olry, which offers a few more hospitality options. Wendy and Cindy are absolute angels and made our time incredibly easy and relaxing. Very generous serves of homecooking three times a day kept us fuelled up. Will be back for certain!
