A few minutes from the port, close to the beach and shops, this open-air hotel offers overnight stays all year round. What a lovely surprise this place was. We booked a premium lodge, it was so clean and plenty of room for 4 adults for one night and not really like I imagined a camping lodge at all. Air conditioning unit in living area which kept the whole unit cool by leaving the bedroom doors open. I would definitely book again. A 20 minute walk to restaurants and bars. Parking outside the lodge was perfectly adequate. Its definitely worth paying the extra and going premium as then your sheets (crisp linen) and towels are included, although you do have to make up your own beds (minor detail)

The campground has a TV. Towels and bed linen are available in the campground. The accommodation is non-smoking.

You can play table tennis at the campground, and bike hire is available. In addition to a seasonal outdoor pool, Campiotel Les Dunes - ROMANEE also features outdoor play equipment. very comfortable accommodation

Situated just 1.7 km from La Cible, Slow Village Saint-Martin-de-Ré features accommodation in Saint-Martin-de-Ré with access to a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a bar, as well as a kids' club. We all swore we would return if we ever come back to France.

The location was excellent, almost direct access onto a dog friendly beach which was our main aim.

Located just 800 metres from Plage de la Côte Sauvage, Camping Les Perouses offers accommodation in Saint-Clément-des-Baleines with access to a garden, a bar, as well as private check-in and check-out. Featuring bicycle parking, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The campground also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Very quaint and clean cabins. Staff very helpful and great location. Bike rentals available for reasonable fee.

A camping located in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré at a walking distance from the beach, Le Suroit offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, an indoor year-round pool as well as a children’s playground and entertainment staff. Good location for the beach. Accommodation clean. It felt safe for our children.

Camping Les Peupliers is located on L’Ile de Ré Island, just 800 metres from the beach and has a seasonal outdoor pool with slides and a paddling pool. A fitness room, sauna, hammam, sports facilities, boules court, and a beach-volley field can be enjoyed on site from April to September. pool and facilities very clean. Lovely position on the island

Facing the seafront in Rivedoux-Plage, Campings Le Platin La Redoute is a campground, featuring a year-round outdoor pool and private parking. The property is located 500 metres from Plage Sud, 16 km from La Rochelle Train Station and 17 km from L'Espace Encan. Guests can make use of outdoor furniture if they wish to dine or sit outside. We loved that we had a chalet near to the beach, just a 2 min walk under the road tunnel. The chalet was perfect for a 4 night stay. Plenty of plug sockets. The language barrier meant there were miscommunications - so when you book your leaving time, note that someone will visit you and the chalet to check it before you leave. Also, the itinerary of goods needs to be completed as soon as you arrive so staff know what’s missing/broken. We were fortunate that a couple of staff spoke some English - and they were friendly and helpful. We have stayed in Riverdoux Plage before so knew it was a lovely sandy beach great for kids and surfers and kites. Do remember to book dinner in restaurants as they tend to fill quickly. No impromptu bookings accepted when September hits.
