I have been to many accommodations in Zanzibar, but this one was truly the most special experience for me. The peace and positive vibes I experienced there brought back 5 years of my life. The house is in a wonderful location, surrounded by dense vegetation, so you will feel a healing peace there during your entire stay. The bungalows are spacious and perfectly clean, the beds are large and comfortable, the view is stunning. The food deserves a Michelin star, the offer is varied, the ingredients are fresh every day, the portions are very generous, certainly above the price. The owner and all the staff are very accommodating, kind and ready to dedicate themselves to each guest to make them feel at home. My special thanks go to the hostess Suzy , whose helpfulness and kindness go beyond the limit and who made our stay even more beautiful. If you are planning to visit Zanzibar, do not make the mistake of not visiting this special piece of paradise. Thank you all, even though we left, a piece of my heart remained there 💓

This is what you call tradition. The same chef for years and food mastered to perfection. Drinks are amazing. Super staff. We are always back in Demani anticipating every meal and precious relax time. This time we had bungalow with private bathroom on the back of the lodge. So many birds tweeting around- we loved it. The room is cozy, bed comfortable, bedsheets super fresh, bathroom spacious with amazing emerald colored walls. There is plenty of space to chill around the restaurant/bar/pool area. The pool has super clean water which i find very important! I cant wait to be back. For sure.

Great and a comfy stay! Will definitely be coming back! Location: the location is quite convenient. It’s right next to the main road going to Paje and 5-10 minutes walk away to the ocean. The building is in Jambiani village which is famous for its sweet, hospitable locals, and great beaches! Supermarkets and shops are all nearby. Check in: Thomas the owner who oversees things personally, was kind enough to arrange for an early check in despite the short notice. He’s easygoing and friendly to deal with. Easy and straightforward process. They accept cards without giving you the looks (many properties in Jambiani don’t happily accept cards). You can use Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. The place itself: this is a brand new building with great finishing. The owner takes pride in his trees and the villa is surrounded by greenery inside it. There’s a pool, kitchen with a big new fridge for guests to store food, shower facilities next to the pool. There’s also a terrace upstairs with huge area for people who wanna have some privacy or do calls or just relax. It offers a nice 360 view of the village on all sides. The rooms: the rooms are quite modern and they are practically designed and equipped with everything you want. The ac was working perfectly and it was a relief in hot afternoons and nights (many properties don’t have ac or it doesn’t work). Really comfy beds (probably the best bed and mattresses I slept on in Zanzibar), a safe which is quite handy, a little desk if you have work, big washroom with great water pressure, everything in the room was brand new and working fine. The internet: I had couple of meetings and was suffering from the poor internet in other proper I. The wifi really saved me. The experience: the owner who was also staying at the property is warm and makes sure to check in on you and see if you need anything (the stay itself, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

From the minute I walked into this place, it felt like family. While very comfortable, the property is not 5 star, however the staff are 5 star plus some. I've travelled a bit and have never had service like this place anywhere else in the world. The room was a good size and clean, the food prepared by the chefs was amazing, the outdoor areas were comfortable, the tours were arranged by Haji and Abu for a good price and anytime I needed to go somewhere, I just had to ask. Abu was fabulous company on the long drives. I would not hesitate to recommend Mkeka Lodge to anyone who is looking for accommodation in Zanzibar. Thanks guys for a memorable holiday..! 💗💗

I keep coming here because it's a very peaceful and quiet place where I relax like nowhere else. The host is just wonderful, the staff is at service, the atmosphere chilling...Love it.

This was a lovely stay tucked away from the busy part of town. Would love to stay here again, and would reccomend to freinds and family.

Come for immediate access to the Jozani nature reserve, stay for the amazing local cuisine! Biosphere is the perfect name, as we enjoyed the neat lizards, the monkeys playing in the courtyard, and birds visiting. We loved the breakfast and asked for a new local dish each night - the best was the “Swahili corner” for 2. The theme to this place was “pole pole” or “gentle/careful/slow”. We learned to plan around things taking a little time, which is great - we are on vacation. It is simple and staff are friendly, with a low price to match the rural setting ;) Be aware: The hotel is adjacent to the national park but does not include the entry ticket. You must go to the park reception and get an entry ticket/trail guide. The trails are incredibly confusing so this is a good rule!

Beachfront hotel with amazing staff. Bungalows were pretty comfy and convenient. Lots of activities to do. Food is yummy and safe. Showers have great pressure.
