Very thoughtful and sent a welcoming message that completely helped this trip. I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating (coffee and tea and pillow options) . It was very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. I really enjoyed this location. A/C and fans worked like a charm and it was perfectly cool and we went at very high temps.

From the moment we got to the property , we were greeted by the owners who were lovely and very helpful. Hut itself was clean tidy with an awesome outside shower. Communal kitchen is set by the creek with some great views.

The common space was great with lots of seating and interesting books about Australian animals and plants. Good kitchen facilities with all you may need, as well as decently priced meals and coffees for purchase at their cafe that looked and smelled good. The sleeping facilities were also very spacious and comfortable, being right in the rainforest, immersed in nature was my favourite part!

This place is special! It is right in the middle of the rainforest and everything felt really thoughtful - kind of like the old days of Airbnb! The wraparound deck was beautiful, and there are so many places to sit, hang out, and take in the nature. There were lots of great touches - a basket full of insect stuff, toiletries, cooking bits, towels left out for the outdoor bath, washing supplies, record player, games, books about the birds, binoculars; the list could go on! Ray was a pleasure to communicate with. Getting in was super easy, and the location is good for getting around the Daintree along the main roads. When I am back in grey London I will try and transport myself back here!

The cabin is spacious and charming, with a well-equipped kitchen and a veranda facing the wonderful view, including barbecue facilities. Breakfast is tasty and satisfying. The crown jewel is the tour to the waterfall, in off-road vehicles driven by the staff, who also provided fascinating information about the area, the plants, and the wildlife. Swimming in the pool beneath the waterfall, surrounded by magnificent nature, is refreshing and delightful. The location is excellent and very convenient for rainforest trips.

We loved the tropical forest that surrounds Gunnadoo Hut and the wonderful views from the deck. It was so scenic and peaceful. It was great to relax in the jacuzzi at the end of the day. The accommodation was very cosy and welcoming with nice decor and the outdoor barbeque area was well-equipped. The owner, Gigi, was very friendly and advised us to back into the driveway to the Hut. The driveway was steep as advised by Gigi, so you need an SUV with AWD or a 4WD with low range.

Greg cooked us a dinner which made me re-think if I was in my granny’s house. Extraordinary location. Greg has everything you need. Pool table, interesting stories, cold beers and delicious food. Absolutely intend to go back someday. Energy comes from solar and batteries, fully renewable. It is a place I’d fully recommend 10/10 stay for all ages and interests.
