Great staff and awesome vibe, gardens are beautiful and the rooms/bungalows are simple but very well decorated and they have everything to have a comfortable stay. They look exactly like the pictures. Very well located to start the hike to see the orangutans. Restaurant was very good, and it was nice to have dinner and join the staff who was playing guitar and singing. Breakfast was awesome, I loved the porridge (baked, steel cut) with local fruits. You really get a lot for what you pay. I hope to go back!

If you want to see orangutans in Bukit Lawang, stop looking, this is the place! The hotel is rustic and beautiful, it is next to the river and the views of the jungle from the bedroom window are incredible! From here we saw orangutans, gibbons, monkeys, langurs, butterflies and birds without having to move. It includes breakfast, and in the restaurant they serve the best curry in town! The staff always attend you with a smile and are willing to help you with whatever you need at all times, we leave with a full heart, thank you very much Pepen, Lina, Inaka, Dani, Rini, Safii, Kolik, Pindo, Ifan and of course Riko (we have a chess match pending, the definition) And if you want to do the tour and enter the national park to explore the wonders of the incredible jungle of Sumatra, well, I must say that here they have the most professional team of all! We spent 3 days and 2 nights in the jungle, with the best guides in Bukit Lawang: Rio and Jerry! They accompany you, teach you and take care of you, they care about protecting the environment and the surroundings, proud of their culture and with a smile all day, attentive to us living one of the best experiences of our entire trip through Southeast Asia. Thanks also to Jill for an amazing dining experience in the middle of the jungle, we never imagined we would eat so well! You have a great team Sean, thank you so much! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Rooms were very clean and neat and an easy walk towards the forest or shops nearby!

We stayed at Brown Bamboo for 4 nights and we can’t thank enough for Gia and his lovely wife for making our stay really special!The rooms are basic but you have everything what you would need!Super friendly and kind host!They even invited us to join them for a wedding in a village!Gia organised our jungle trekking which is a memory I will never forget!Our guides Gesu and Borneo are the best!!!the jungle trekk with the hot-humid weather is very hard but it is worth every second of it and they will look after you in every step of the way!we saw many orangutans,some very close to us!!!Sleeping in a jungle is very surreal ,but being and sleeping in nature is a one of a kind experience!Gia also organised a trip to Tangakhan where you can wash the elephants in the river and feed them!Great experience! I would absolutely recommend Brown Bamboo guests house if you looking for a friendly and familiar place ! Thank you Gia and family for making our stay really special!
