We had an amazing time at Orangutan Bungalow! Staff were so helpful. We did the 3 day trek through them which was incredible. We also saw some orangutans on the property and from our balcony.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was beautiful.

We did the two days one night trekking with Jerry, Rudy & Abdi. The guides are very funny, knowledgeable about everything and Abdi’s food was amazing! The trekking was tough but we had so much fun and saw many orangutans and other animals. Unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia! After the trekking we spent another night at the Garden Inn and did the village tour with Pindu, perfect way to learn more about the local community! He also let us make our own tempeh and gado gado, which was a lot of fun. If you are planning to visit Bukit Lawang, we would recommend to book everything with the Garden Inn team. I loved the location of the jungle lodge, it was perched on a jungle hillside... truly amazing😍 I had Ian & Jeffrey as my guides & they were very informative and helpful throughout the jungle trek. Yanta was another assistant & I couldn't be happier about it... so kind & friendly :). Awesome experience! I will be back one day!

The homestay currently consists of three one-room cabins and a small house w/ a compact kitchen. It’s located in a quiet area away from the busy main road. The owner is a very kind elementary school teacher who lives near the homestay with his family. I stayed in one of the cabins and enjoyed the cleanliness, the hot water in the shower, the excellent WiFi, the exceptional view from the back porch, and the incredible hospitality of the whole family.
