The owners clearly care a lot about the place and their guests! The amount of small little details that we loved is too many to mention individually, but everything looked like it was done with intention, from the kitchenware to the bathroom supplies to even the coat hangers. The fireplace was an absolutely amazing little add-on, which one doesn’t often get, and which made it even cozier and homey-er. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything worked great, the beds were comfortable and warm. The place in itself is easy to find with the descriptions, and close enough to the next town to quickly get some essentials if needed, while also far enough away to feel cosy and calm. We had a brief chat with one of the owners when we arrived, who was super nice and told us a little bit about the house and the area in general. Thanks for an amazing stay!

From Laugarfell you have access to many hiking trails and you are close to the road leading to Askja. Laugarfell is accessible for all types of vehicles. The staff were so friendly and personable. Very clean facilities. The hot pools were amazing, especially after a long day of hiking. Loved the isolated surroundings as well. Very relaxing and secluded.

We were very well welcomed by the owner and his friends. Since it was low season for fishing, and there was no extra staff, we had a restaurant kitchen at our beck and call. The room has a nice view of the rear garden and the ensuite bathroom was clean and new.
