It was the most wonderful place, a very special place, very calm, it felt very personal and exclusive The rooms were much more than just a room, having your own front door straight into the garden and pool area, they were incredibly clean and the bathroom is such a treat, it really connects you to the nature all around, absolutely fantastic and super clean also, great shower, very comfy large bed. The staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and the food is fabulous, as in the rest of Sri Lanka and indeed anywhere, the local Sri lankan dishes were definitely the best and I would suggest people choose these, taste and presentation was superb. We would definitely love to come back

We had a truly wonderful stay at Rock Shade Chalet – Sigiriya. The chalet was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with a beautiful natural setting close to the main attractions. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and freshly prepared, making our stay very comfortable. A special mention goes to Mr. Lasantha, who gave us massive support throughout our stay. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made a big difference. Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The place was clean and cozy, not far from the main attractions. The breakfast was very good. We saw monkeys on the trees Just in front of the house. The owner was very nice and he even helped us to plan our day and provided a driver for a good price.

I am telling you guys! This is like a five-star hotel quality stay! I am travelling around Sri Lanka and this lodge, is the best decision I made! I stay at the double room that is on the second floor. The host welcome me when I arrive and take my life-threatening heavy luggage upstairs. And after I enter the room, I am like,”wooooooooow”. It’s a five star hotel, honestly. The big toilet and bathroom, clean and tidy with everything you needed. The TERRACE! Its fire!!! I could’ve shoot a music video here. All the plants are so well planted and design. That chill afternoon of me sitting in the terrace is going to be imprinted in my memory for as long as possible. I can tell by other guests face as well, when they are sitting on the swing beds in front of their rooms, they are having the best moments. I am fully refresh after a long journey around the island and sigiriya has made it to the list of my most favourite place. The breakfast is amazing !!! The host, he is an angel. He just looks like he had been trained in like top class hotel with all his service and manners. I loved it so much with the breakfast call, the arrangement and introduction for all the amazing activity around sigiriya. I went around the town with the tuktuk the host booked and the driver is friendly af! Showing me all those monkeys explaining the culture in sigiriya before I get to the rock. NO MOSQUITOS AT ALL.

We only had 1 day at Dambulla and she made sure to fulfill our wishes for the surroundings. Her husband drove us to a nice ayurvedic center for a massage in the evening. Her diner (Kotu!) was amazing. Good lunch next door at Ceylon Gracious Kitchen, a place the host recommended. They arranged a driver for us to our next place. We felt very welcome 🙏

Isanka Lion Lodge se nachází v destinaci Sigiriya a nabízí venkovní bazén, zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a výhled do zahrady. Majiteli jsou velmi milí a přátelští manželé, usměvaví a vždy ochotní pomoci. Pokoj krásný, čistý a na skvělém místě, jen kousek od Lion Rock. Bazén také super, osvětlený, bylo možné ho používat i za tmy. Jídlo skvělé, nebyl problém připravit nám snídani i velmi brzy ráno. Moc děkujeme a určitě doporučujeme.

Clean room with stunning view of lions rock, great air conditioning. The breakfasts were delicious and different every morning. Had scooter or bike hire to get into town. The family were so lovely and cooked the best dinners. They even arranged a us a tuk tuk for a sunrise walk up Pidurangala Rock as well as a Safari. They also arranged us a drive to take us to our next location.
