FAQs about hotels in Buenos Aires

Tango for Your Senses

Cosmopolitan and trendy, with South American essence and European charm, Buenos Aires represents the living image of tango: elegant yet passionate and nostalgic. Grown around its harbour and vastly populated by immigrants from the Old Continent, it is a faithful image of Argentina’s typical ethnical patchwork.

The enormous relief of Evita’s face at 9 de Julio Avenue, La Boca's humble and colourful streets, the stylish buildings along Avenida de Mayo, or the modernly refurbished docks in Puerto Madero… Buenos Aires is an exciting and captivating city, full of history and full of stories.

Some of the finest Buenos Aires hotels are located near the Casa Rosada, in the Montserrat district. A few blocks south, you can find hotels in San Telmo mixing modern style and old-fashioned architecture.

Outside the centre, hotels in Recoleta recount with early 20th-century glories, surrounded by green areas, mansions and embassies. Palermo hotels include a vast array of apartments, hostels and small boutique accommodation.

After arriving at Ezeiza International Airport, rush out and enjoy the rhythm of Buenos Aires and its many cultural offerings, fashionable shopping streets, its huge variety of restaurants, and the busy nightlife.

Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with lots of places to see / visit I would definitely recommend a visit! Now, like any other place in South America, it can be dangerous in some places, so I recommend that if you go, stay in safe neighbourhoods such as Puerto Madero. Especially, if you are travelling on your own. If you want to go to see Caminito, and Boca Stadium then go on an Uber and stick to the tourist paths. Uber is a great option as it is cheap and safe. Walking the 9 de Julio avenue during the day is very safe, and it offers a lot of places to eat and visit! All in all just be aware, and use your common sense.

We live in Montevideo so it was just a short 2.5 hour ferry across the Rio de la Plata. BA is always a nice visit...especially Palermo Soho...it's really the only neighborhood that we stay in when we're in BA....mostly because it's safe. ...and you can get anywhere you want to go from Palermo...in a short taxi/uber ride....there's also decent shopping and nice restaurants, bars, nightlife. Buenos Aires has so much cultural history, it would be a shame to miss it. They also have that hop on/hop off double-decker tour bus that hits all of the cultural/historic sites, so if it's your first time there that's a very good option. Saludos

We were delighted to return to the land where I grew up and studied, to remember beautiful places and moments that I enjoyed with my family. Argentina is beautiful from every angle. I recommend the Don Julio Restaurant, it's a beautiful place and the food is wonderful.

Good public transport system for a true metropolis.

Good public transport system for a true metropolis. While there are unending things to do, it does take some research and planning. If you are busing between the city and the airport, make sure that you get the express No. 8 and not the commuter one. San Telmo during the Sunday market. The nature reserve to the east of the city is like a rain-forest aviary with a city centre skyline backdrop. Real bookshops, street art instead of graffiti, empanadas for any meal. The eco-park beside Plaza Italia metro station with rescued wild animals and mate refilling stations. Wandering around 19th century skyscrapers and their classical cafes.

It's a huge city, you have different things to do everyday. June is an excellent month to travel cause it's not full of tourists. If there's any football match, I totally recommend to go to a bar to watch it while drinking something.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful. When I noticed there were only 3 hangers in the closet, I called the front desk, and a maid came immediately with about 10 hangers. I also had questions about using the shower, and someone came right away. I was born in Argentina but moved to New York with my family many years ago. My last visit was six years ago with my son and family. My oldest granddaughter was nine at the time and told me she'd like to go back. I promised I would, just the two of us, and it was my present to her celebrating her 15th birthday. We had a great time, just the two of us. She wanted a photo of her in front of the Casa Rosada. We also went to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, and to a tango show, among many sites. I also liked el Puente de la Mujer and admired how clean the city was, unlike Manhattan. She had a very good sense of direction, and suggested we walk back rather than take a cab. I was disappointed I wasn't able to find even a post card of La Boca. While we were at the airport, I found a place that sold books, but when I asked for La Boca I was sold one about the team and their fans, not the place! On my previous visit I'd been able to find postcards of the city. Not this time!

A neighborhood that deserves to be visited, especially its gastronomy. Staying in Palermo seems to me to be the best option to visit Buenos Aires and be close to everything. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, a functional kitchen, excellent facilities, air conditioning, TV and much more. I felt super comfortable here and that's why I would return.
