Balthazar restaurant and bar was excellent on our first night,Saturday alas on Sunday it was not. They we’re very busy for the festival and tired 💤 on Sunday. We wanted a 6pm dinner, told nothing till 7.30.We were patient and sat with beer and wine till 7.30...alas no service till 7.55....the food was poor as opposed to Sat.Left half of it...when asking for bill it took 20 mins..with a water that we didn’t get receive.Lots of staff but not very attentive.
Not only the staying at the Estancia El Ombú was nice, but visiting the village, San Antonio de Areco in itself, with its Güiraldes Museum, the pulpería, and more worth going. It is very easy to get around the place.
It's a really relaxing yet interesting Pampas town with historic and quiet residential streets and a pleasing riverside park that is popular with the locals. The town square is low key but pleasant and is lined on one side by two popular cafes, a beautiful old church, and some municipal offices where they have free bicycles for tourists to use for the morning (return by 2 pm).
Very picturesque little gaucho town, which caters well to tourists. Lots of free events, guided tours and even bikes to make for an interesting city-break. Really recommend eating at Almacen de Ramos Generales restaurant.
Old, quiet and dusty ......like we were staying in the past.....exactly what I as a Canadian want. I dont want to feel like I am at the the Sheraton Hotel in Canada/US or Toronto/New York City. They are great also but if you are seeking new authentic adventures- little old towns will fill your spirit.
It was very peaceful and relaxing . The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The surroundings were really pretty and the garden and pool were very secluded and great to relax in. It was a great opportunity to have a fabulous massage in the spa . Breakfast was fresh and home cooked with plenty of options. We really enjoyed our stay.

It was a real pleasure staying in Areco in this Hostel. Alicia is a very nice and warm person. She’s very welcoming and helpful, ask her anything and she will help you out (restaurants, horse riding tours, museums etc...). The place is clean and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect. I really recommend this place.

We had the most enjoyable stay - one of the highlights of our two month visit to Argentina! Casa B is elegant, comfortable and relaxing. Juan and his wife are charming and did everything to make our stay memorable. The breakfast was fantastic and the hospitality was first class. We cannot recommend this place enough!

The breakfast was simple and every piece of it was delicious. Pastries were outstanding. They had a self service of coffee, tea, juice and water. Fruit and fruit salad. Bread, galleta, libritos and gluten free options plus an unforgettable jam and honey.

Spacious, traditional home. Own privacy. Super helpful and friendly hosts (including going above and beyond to find me a horse riding opportunity in 24h!). Great breakfast and patio. Clean. Conveniently located. Was literally everything perfect!
Beautiful unpretentious authentic working Estancia Rooms full of character Magnificent pool Horse back riding with friendly ‘real’ gaucho Common room is full of charm (looks like a small green house with old furniture inside) Price
