The views from our balcony were incredible — mountains, pastures, and the Alps — the perfect setting to enjoy morning coffee. The location was ideal: just 10–15 minutes from the nearby lakes and about 20 minutes to Hallstatt, making it easy to explore the whole area.
The chalet was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and we even cooked dinner one evening. The host was warm and welcoming, greeting us with a bottle of wine and some olive oil — such a thoughtful gesture. It quiet at night and perfect for stargazing! Lots of biking and walking trails around as well.
We truly loved our stay and would happily return!

In Bad Aussee there are several places to eat or buy groceries. Whithin a few minutes you reach a lake to swim or a beginning of a hiking path. Good position for visiting Hallstadt, Bad Ischl or Salzburg. If you want to have dinner in a restaurant it is good to make a reservation otherwise you may have a problem to get seats.

Bad Aussee is great location. Surrounded by the mountains.
Bad Aussee is great location. Surrounded by the mountains. We made lots of nice trips to the great tourist attractions ( lakes, sightseeing points) . We visited Wolfgangsee lake and atter see Lake which were absolutely amazing.
Only the downside of it was the parking in the city.

Bad Aussee is a very good area for cross country skiing in the winter, and also for mountain biking in the summer. The Narzissentherme resort is also very nice. Bad Aussee is also near the Loser Ski area (15 minutes by car).

I got exactly what I booked - a single room with privacy for an affordable enough price (truly paying the price for one person unlike in some other establishments). The toilet not being only mine wasn't a surprise as it was clearly stated during the booking process and it was no issue at all. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were nice. Top tier location, pretty view. If I ever come back to Bad Aussee, I know what accommodation I'll choose.

A nice, cosy and super clean studio apartment with an extremely well equipped small kitchenette! The room is quite spacious and the sitting area very comfortable! We enjoyed our stay a lot!
Congratulations to the hosts - everything one could think of and might need, was available! Even a small first aid kit!

We stayed in Schmiedgut in June 2025 and were very satisfied. Our apartment was very clean, spacious and well taken care of. Garden with a pond was super beautifull and created a relaxing athmosphere. Sauna was perfect and it was always heated up according to our request. We can warmly recommend Schmiedgut.

The accommodation is perfect. Spacious and equipped with everything you need. The kitchen has all the necessary dishes. Absolutely comfortable and clean!
It was wonderful for my family with a child. My sincerest recommendations! The balcony offers a beautiful view of the mountains! Highly recommended!

The location was excellent being extremely well located (a short walk from the railway station and near a bus stop).
The accommodation itself was outstanding being spacious, spotlessly clean, well fitted out and so comfortable. Fantastic bathroom with walk in shower.
The town of Bad Aussie is lovely.
