The early self check-in at 11 am. Unusual but great for hikers that start early and are tired by early afternoon. Room key came with a personalized welcome letter. The host, Karl, is a very nice guy! Good breakfast, too.

The resort is set in a pretty gorge with a rushing stream well outside of Mayhofen. It is possible to get there by bus from the Zillertal, but much easier if you have a car. The building itself is beautiful and the spa/sauna facilities are excellent. The meals were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are a few nice hiking and bicycling options nearby, but many more if you go down to the valley. They have a couple of electric vehicle chargers (extra cost) in the garage, which was very useful for me.
