United StatesWe took a chance and showed up a little early to see if our rooms were ready because we drove through snow and rain to get there. One of the rooms was ready but ours was not so they upgraded our room to a suite for free which was very kind of him to do. Let me tell you, when I walked into that room and saw the view, I was more than pleased and super excited. We got settled in then meet up with family in the evening for food and drinks and it was all very good. Breakfast was fantastic as well. Everyone we encountered there was so nice and friendly I would definitely stay there again.

What I especially liked, Ehrwald has everything close by: restaurants, cable cars, and beautiful hiking trails. It’s the perfect starting point for tours and enjoying the local cuisine.
I ate at Hoisler’s Wirtshaus, on the Ehrwalder Alm, and at Papas Café Bar – all of them were tasty and had a cozy atmosphere.
Getting around Ehrwald is super easy. You can take the bus, explore on foot, or drive – everything is well connected.
There are lots reat activities for solo travelers:
A trip to the highline179 in Reutte, Tyrol was a real highlight – the suspension bridge offers breathtaking views and is easy to reach. While you're there, you can also take in the impressive Ehrenberg castle complex. Hiking from the Seebensee to the Drachensee or visiting the Eibsee are also highly recommended – stunning scenery and well worth the effort.

The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.

Ehrwal is a nice village at the foot of Zugspitze.
Ehrwal is a nice village at the foot of Zugspitze. There are a few hotels and restaurants as well as winter sport facilities. We were there in September and the meadows were green and the views nice after disipation of the morning fog.

Lovely village in Austria.
Lovely village in Austria. Lots of walking options, from easy to strenous, with stunning scenery of lakes and mountains. Cable cars giving easy access to the mountains. A Guest Card, given to tourists staying in local properties, allows use of regular local buses, which link the Cable Car stations. Also, a Z Card can be purchased to allow daily use of cable cars, including one trip to the Zugspitze. Some lovely restaurants in the village, and 2 supermarkets. Overall, a great holiday location.

A dream town for travellers searching for skiing, relaxing or just wandering along the country side. Amazing views, cozy town, great location very close to main hotspots in Tirol.
Despite being small, it has everything needed for a day to day life: supermarkets, pharmacy, indorr swimming pool and spa, cable cars to the Zugspitze summit reachable on foot, a few restaurants...

We had such a lovely stay, to celebrate our birthdays. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. We took a day trip, hiking to seeben see and drachen see. Hotel Aloin was very well located for this. Breakfast was great, our room with a beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony was clean and had everything we needed. We felt well taken care of during our stay!

The ground floor room was really big and stylish. The terrance was great and the kitchen was well equipped. The spa and saunas were like a heaven after long hiking days. In overall, the room and the hotel were clean, modern, and cozy. Several trails are accessible directly from the hotel.

Fantastic mountain views from the balcony including Zugspitze. I have attached 2 photos taken from the balcony. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the balcony most days. The location gave us easy access to the free bus to access the cable cars. Also v close to the bahnhof.

Spa facilities appeared to be popular (we didn't use them).
