Very nice town with everything for a pleasant stay.
Very nice town with everything for a pleasant stay. The river, the old town, the hill with the vineyards, the boats through the Wahau valley. The bike routs. All these are worth trying. There are enough and different restaurants for every taste. We were there to try local food and wine and we were not disappointed. Nice old city, lots of restaurants, bars and wine bars. Good location for shopping. Bakeries opened each day, no problem to find breakfast early in the morning. Small city, easy to go by foot everywhere. I reccomend boat trip Krems-Spitz-Krems, wonderful. Tasting wine in Spitz exceeded our expectations. Very nice green Donau´s nature, vineyards everywhere. Krems is a fantastic city.
Krems is a fantastic city. Lots of sights, leisure and entertainment options. There is a very high-quality bicycle path along the Danube, it is easy to get to the equally beautiful neighboring Dürnstein or the other towns by bicycle. Lovely old town with a great position on the Danube. We spent 3 hours sitting on the comfortable chairs right on the river. Took our lunch there to eat on the river followed by a gelato. Great old traditional restaurant - Adlerbräu which has been in business since 1621. Terrific town square too. Kunsmeile is worth a visit.
Kunsmeile is worth a visit. Make sure that you have enough time for the four museums. The buildings are wonderful and exhibitions very good. The view from the rooftop terrace at Landesgalerie is breathtaking. I wish that I would have time for the Wachau Valley.Guest review bySabineDenmark - 10.0

We stayed next to one of the ancient city gates of the Altstadt. The old town is marvellous and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We walked the first leg of the World Heritage path into the Wachau on a beautiful day. and it was a trip that we will always remember fondly. Krems is most certainly worth a visit. I had stayed in the outskirts of the city some years ago when cycling the Danube bicycle path. I didn't realise at the time that the Altstadt was worth visiting but made up for it this time.Guest review byJohnAustralia

Great location, close to the center and a good supermarket, very very quiet and private, in a charming street, with a private minigarden. Equipped with everything imaginable. Krems is the best town in the area for exploring the Wachau. Matthias is the nicest and most attentive host with great tips.
