For me it has a family connection as my 3x great grandfather was born there in 1826 and some of the places he lived and worked at still survive.

Very nice town with everything for a pleasant stay.
Very nice town with everything for a pleasant stay. The river, the old town, the hill with the vineyards, the boats through the Wahau valley. The bike routs. All these are worth trying. There are enough and different restaurants for every taste. We were there to try local food and wine and we were not disappointed. We cycled to Spitz with our 8 year old son, had lunch and took a boat back - really exciting for the boy.

Nice old city, lots of restaurants, bars and wine bars. Good location for shopping. Bakeries opened each day, no problem to find breakfast early in the morning. Small city, easy to go by foot everywhere. I reccomend boat trip Krems-Spitz-Krems, wonderful. Tasting wine in Spitz exceeded our expectations. Very nice green Donau´s nature, vineyards everywhere. Super!

Krems is a fantastic city.
Krems is a fantastic city. Lots of sights, leisure and entertainment options. There is a very high-quality bicycle path along the Danube, it is easy to get to the equally beautiful neighboring Dürnstein or the other towns by bicycle. The baroque atmosphere of Krems is very captivating. It is a perfect destination for a shorter or longer stay as well.

Lovely old town with a great position on the Danube.
Lovely old town with a great position on the Danube. We spent 3 hours sitting on the comfortable chairs right on the river. Took our lunch there to eat on the river followed by a gelato. Great old traditional restaurant - Adlerbräu which has been in business since 1621. Terrific town square too. The night we were there they had a comedian on a floating boat (moored!) so there was lots of activity.

Kunsmeile is worth a visit.
Kunsmeile is worth a visit. Make sure that you have enough time for the four museums. The buildings are wonderful and exhibitions very good. The view from the rooftop terrace at Landesgalerie is breathtaking.
I wish that I would have time for the Wachau Valley.

We used this accomodation during our stay for Wachau marathon and it was surely one of the best possible spaces you can imagine. It's located directly in historical city centre and everything related to race was really close - expo, finish, bus and train station.
Apartment itself is nice and clean in nice old building. If you need a parking place, then it's located just a few hundread meters away as there are no parking places directly on the street.

We had room in old part of the hotel. Part of the hotel was under the reconstruction and another part is quite old. But it was very clean. Wellness is amazing. I was totally in love with outside pool in relax area. Breakfast was delicious.

The receptionist and breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly. Also, the breakfast had good quality. The room was clean, and the bathroom was quite spacious. The hotel is within walking distance from the town center.

Perfect location for hiking around Wachau, good breakfast and cozy room. Ferdinand is a great host, he gave us tips on where to eat/drink and helped us get to the start of our hike. Thank you again for the stay :)
