Not being too close to Vienna airport I probably should have planned for a couple of nights stay in Vienna either side of the trip, so that the travel to/from Worthersee was not too much of a headache/rush. The train journey was excellent, except, when our initially cancelled and subsequently delayed flight(s) eventually arrived, we had missed the last train, at 7.30pm, and the taxi fare was massive; so we only got to experience the train on the way back. This little town is just a gem, offering everything you might desire: excellent restaurants and cafés, beautiful beaches on the lake, pristine nature, beautiful old houses and villas, warm hospitality.
