This place was an an absolute delight form the moment we arrived. The host is very friendly and made us feel welcomed. After a great nights sleep we enjoyed an authentic Austrian breakfast she made herself. I would definitely stay here again.

Very good room, clean and friendly stuff. The breakfast had the most delicious items I ever ate in a hotel. There were not so many options as in a huge hotel, but everything that was available for the breakfast was of very good quality.

Everything was just perfect, great value for the money! One of the best accommodations we have ever booked. The room was very spacious, bathroom as well. Furnitures were of high quality, and bathroom was very well done, with high quality materials. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options, including vegetarian. Really, we didn't expect to find this quality.

We were upgraded to an apartment by the kind owner. It was facing the clock tower on the main market square. What a perfect location to have a nice dinner and a long walk through the old town afterwards. We were thrilled to be in such an old building (13th century) with amazing history. Make sure you ask the host about his remodel. He will show you photos that are just amazing. We were very happy with the bedding, shower, and living space. Everything was very high quality. We had a safe place in the back to store our bicycles. Instead of paying the 17 eu for breakfast, I went just outside the hotel in the morning (like the host recommended) and there was a little farm market going on. I bought rolls, meats, cheeses, fruit and veggies and made our own breakfast for much less. We had coffee with us, and were allowed to get hot water, cups, plates, and cutlery from the buffet downstairs. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

A good bakery and several pleasant hostelries along the river front. Many attractive buildings in the town itself. Interesting gigantic ancient trees which would sadly certainly have been lopped in the UK

I visited the concentration camp, unfortunately compared to...

I visited the concentration camp, unfortunately compared to some other concentration camps (in Poland) it lacks authenticity, it is more of a museum. I find some (construction) modifications inappropriate. Nevertheless, I found enough to take away a strong experience.

We went to Mauthausen for a guided tour of the Memorial.

We went to Mauthausen for a guided tour of the Memorial. Highly recommended. Truly moving. It's a very pretty town on the Danube. It's well-served by supermarkets, restaurants, and gas stations. Very close to Linz, a very quiet city. We've always found the people very hospitable.

Unfortunately, I'm always just passing through. Mauthausen is located directly on the Danube and I think there's certainly a lot to see, such as the concentration camp memorial, the pharmacy museum, etc. It's in the Upper Austrian district of Perg in the Mühlviertel region.

It's a market town in Upper Austria, in the Perg district, on the Danube. Worth seeing for anyone interested is the Mauthausen concentration camp memorial. Unfortunately, it serves as a reminder of the worst times under the Nazi regime. I'm only ever passing through here, unfortunately.

Fantastic hotel on the side of the Danube.. Looks really modern on the outside, the rooms follow this theme and are large and immaculately clean and so quiet at night. Yet, when you go into the bar/restaurant it is like going into a traditional Austrian Gasthof, absolutely brilliant! The staff were all really friendly (we turned up hot, sweaty and tired in motorcycle gear..they didn't blink an eye😃) Food, evening meal and breakfast, was superb, as was the beer and wine!

Great breakfast and very helpful owner. We were biking, and as the property lies a bit out of Mauthausen, we were glad to be given a nearby restaurant to eat in. It is about a 10 min bike ride outside Mauthausen center, in case you want to stay in the town itself or biking in bad weather and don't want to get back on your bikes for dinner.

Modern hotel with large rooms and large en-suite bathroom. Located on busy road on way out of town so not handy for walking to centre BUT we were cycling and it was close to the Danube cycle track and had a locked bike room (with bike tools!) Staff were very helpful and breakfast was superb
