Sölden and the whole Oetztal is very well organized. There are so many activities. Hikes are well signposted and plentiful. A lot of aerial tramway guarantee that you can have a great hike (or thrilling downhill bike). Parking at he cable car stations is free. One tiny impracticality is the fact that it is only possible until 19:00 hrs. So, if you are in for a relaxed evening downhill stroll you may get a bit stressed. And also dinner along the way is not an option. Public transport is well organized and even drags along huge trailers in which you can have your bike transported.

One of the best valleys in Tyrol. Sometimes we go there and highly appreciate the continuous improvement both in summer and in winter. A large number of different combinations of hiking and biking trips. Good bus connections (sometimes the line to the Rettensbach Glacier was not enough to take returning tourists from places at lower stops, it was necessary to wait quite a long time for another bus). Lots of shops (groceries, hiking equipment) and restaurants.

There are some long and wide slopes which are good for family. Most of lifts and facilities are updated to make guests comfortable. Connections of lifts are well made to get around Solden. Advertised 007 elements are worth visiting if you are a fan of the series, although the cube restaurant next to it was bit too expensive.

A variety of slopes to suit all skiing abilities. Non skiers can reach the mountain tops via gondola. Good mountain restaurants, are reasonably priced. The town spreads out along a main road lined with bars, restaurants and shops. Good public transport, although ski buses tend to stop at around 5.30 pm. So expect to pay a fortune to get a taxi back to your accommodation after Apres Ski! Although it lacks the usual Tirolean charm associated with many Austrian ski resorts, the vast skiing areas and mountain landscapes makes-up for this shortfall. There is also an excellent swimming pool complex and gym, for non skiers or very tired skiers !

Solden is a nice ski village with many restaurants. The price for a meal is above average. There is also a great home delivery service. The many stores make it look cozy. Apres ski was disappointing, on top of the slopes was only 1 apres ski tent.

A typical Austrian Ski resort. Excellent selection of of both well groomed runs and lots of back country. The glacier means it is always snow assured . The ski bus system is not as efficient as some of the other resorts and finishes very early.

We had a lovely stay. Such a great pet-friendly 5 star hotel. Half board had great food, the facilities were well maintained, and the spa area is bigger than we expected! There was a wedding on the same day, but we didn’t hear any noise during the night from our room. We asked to move to the bar for dessert and the staff was accommodating.

It was amazing how accomodating the Arnold family was. We had to leave early because of an emergency and they were very relaxed about it. I even forgot couple things there and they sent it to Prague without any problem. Real appreciative.

Great location, on 2000m altitude in the middle of the mountains. Food is good, service is friendly and rooms are not too big, but ok. There's a small playing ground for children with some animals.

The hotel had everything that we needed. Staring from the room- it was clean, spacious and with a breathtaking view of the Alps. The kitchen was fully equipped. The apartment had 2 bathrooms as well, which was very convenient for me and my family. Good value for money. Highly recommend!

Safe to say we didn't bank on snow when we arrived in early September for a two-night stay. We'd planned walks and cable car trips in this lovely location. However, the first early snowfall of the season arrived, very early. And we were snowed in, having not taken the requisite winter gear! Never mind, we enjoyed the delights of a heavenly apartment, and thanks so much to the lovely Julia and Markus for making our stay a memorable one. They dropped off some treats and brought pizzas from the family restaurant in town. Great pizzas, too. So we kept warm, drank and ate for two days - and for the first time I can remember in a hotel or apartment, we watched TV. Brilliant! Hopefully when we come back, it won't be snowing in summer. But if it does, this is the place to be!
