FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

    Vienna is an amazing destination.

Vienna is an amazing destination. It's a mix of modern and old where you can go crazy and visit museums, palaces and churches or just take things easy in a park or in a cafè. It was much less expensive than I expected and we ate really well with generous servings at very affordable prices. Definitely worth visiting and spending time getting to know it better!

    Beautiful city!

Beautiful city! Great to just wander through some parks or to appreciate the architecture of the city. It felt like we were in a piece of art. The people were nice and the city did not feel crowded or hectic. Public transport works good and the short journey you have to make by foot, are nice possibilities to get a feel for the city. Many cafes and restaurants, we did not need reservations once.

We took out teens to the maze at Schonbrunn which was fabulous. Freud museum was expensive and poorly done . It could have been so much better with a bit of imagination and a tiny budget. Vienna is a unique, super restored, clean historical imperial city that is very modern at the same time. It does take care of the environment and sustainability. It is a gorgeous place with special atmosphere and a lot of sites to offer. We of course visited the Stephansdom with free entry, Schönbrunn, Mariahilferstrasse and as a bonus the Haus des Meeres - a former flak tower with plenty aquariums and terrariums on multiple storeys. This tower is really a hidden gem, is situated nearby the Mariahilferstrasse and boasts with wonderful restaurant on the top of the building having the best 360° angle view of Vienna! - Just breathtaking!

There's just so much to see in Vienna, it makes sense to...

There's just so much to see in Vienna, it makes sense to make a week out of it. Vienna has beautiful gardens, majestic buildings, a thriving sub-culture for the young, and a love for the classical musical arts. It's a hodge-podge of new and old, but on a grand scale. The European heart of waltz and opera. Roaming the streets, you'll think you were brought back in time when Mozart was writing his symphonies. There is just so much variety in cuisine, music and art. Need an antique camera from the 1930's there's a shop for that, feeling like Chinese food, they've got it, want to relax under a tree go for it! An impressive city with charm, and a flow of it's own. Of all the cities I have been to, Vienna is unique among Europe. But if you're thinking of getting around and seeing Vienna by foot that is a daunting task. It's a large city and you won't be able to see it all that way. You could rent a bicycle, but most likely end up using the metro. No need to worry most people speak English if your German isn't up to scratch. Proost.

Having visited Vienna often staying in budget hotels, this was absolutely the best hotel in Vienna I’ve stayed at! New, clean, quiet, warm. Excellent location, direct bus connection from the airport and subway and train stations right across the street. In the main train station you have one of the few grocery stores that are open 7 days a week, as well as bakeries opening at 5 a.m. and different restaurants. Belvedere castle within walking distance and again some nice restaurants around it. The breakfast is innovative and worth the money.

The hotel is in a very nice part of the city. The metro station is 2 mins from the hotel, and from there you can get to the city center in 7 mins. You can walk to the city center if you want and can. I did it a few times. The transfer to the airport, Vienna Airport Lines (VAL 1), stops in front of the Westbahnhof train station, which is in front of the metro station. Everything is very close! Also, there is a very nice commercial street just around the corner, where you can find all sorts of restaurants, bars, and shops.

I chose to stay near to the Vienna Train Station (but a little bit far from city centre) so that I could easily catch the train to the Vienna International Airport on the last day. I would say the hotel is considered very near to the train station - only 1 tram station away. You have to walk to the nearest tram stop which is Alfred-Adler-Straße and ride 1 stop to Hauptbahnhof Ost S stop and you could reach the platforms in Vienna Train Station very soon.

Stayed 2 days in Vienna and the hotel was perfect for us. Comfortable and almost 15 min walking to the city center. The rooms are quiet and there is no disturbance, and the air conditioning was cool and excellent. The staff were smiling and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and flexible. The rooms are not large but adequate and this is the case with most hotels in Europe.
