A beautiful, atmospheric city with superb architecture and numerous attractions. The tube system offers cheap and regular transport and we also made use of the hop on/off tourist bus. Both were great ways to see the city.cafe Diglas, near the cathedral I the centre, was a coffee house highlight, such a lovely experience and great food and service. Train from and to airport/ centre is easy, fast and very cheap ( just six euros each). House of Music museum is quirky and interactive and open until 10.00pm.

Not as big or varied as Paris, for example, but a lovely ciity with its own character and easy to navigate. Many major museums and architectural highlights are on or not far from the Ringstraße. Don't bother paying for tourist buses or similar - take the No. 1 tram to travel the length of of this lovely boulevard. Excellent museums with world class art,, peerless classical music venues and lovely cafes. If you like early twentieth century art, this is a great place to start, with fine collections of Klimt and Schiele, as well as wonderful jugendstil art and design, among other highlights. The public transport is excellent and very good value. However, beware of overpriced shops at some venues - some are charging double price for Mozart Kugeln. The shop at the famous giant ferris wheel in the Prater park is horribly overpriced. Go to Spar or Billa to buy sweets and liqeuer at the price the locals pay (Billa and Spar are all over the city). We did self-catering, and Billa is the best supermarket (more choice and cheaper than Spar).

The city is very lively. You can always find an activity.
The city is very lively. You can always find an activity. We understand how much we have walked by looking at the pedometer on our phone at the hotel. There are many striking architectural structures, cafes, museums, etc. that offer a pleasant walking opportunity. The kids loved Haus des Meeres, they walked up 11 floors without realizing it and without getting tired.

Beautiful European city with a lot of history.
Beautiful European city with a lot of history. Vienna is known for its cultural side with lots of museums, palaces and opera houses. The city contains a river, which allows easily accessible boat tours and water activities. The airport is located very close to the city with easy easy access to and from the airport from the centre. Bratislava and Budapest can be reached very quickly from Vienna.

Stunning architecture, very extravagant and full of the arts...
Stunning architecture, very extravagant and full of the arts of every kind. There is so much not just to see but also experience if you have the time to do so. I recommend the experience of a concert which kind off immerses you in what Vienna is all about. Plenty of Museums which provides a wet day activity if need be. Also shopping heaven but expensive as all cities are. Public transport is cheap and a lot of things to see outside of the main centre, the list is endless.
Spacious rooms that were clean. The bathroom was large and immaculate. The breakfast was wonderful with a huge array of options. The location is right next to Schönbrunn Palace which was nice. The city centre was a few stops away on the train but this was no issue as there was metro direct line literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The overall feel of the hotel was old-style grandeur which was a perfect stay for Vienna.
We stayed four nights in a twin room (father and daughter). Room was spacious and clean. Staff very helpful. Location was good with a 20 minutes into the city centre and choice of metro lines and tram routes. Breakfast was very very good with a wide choice, meaning I did not eat till dinner each day.
Hotel was reasonable value for Vienna, which I find expensive on the whole.
Great location for transport links and proximity to the city centre. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean
The breakfast was excellent and varied also complimentary proseco. Front desk staff with a special mention for Anna were so helpful. Will definitely return to the hotel josefshof and Vienna again.
Good option for short stay in Vienna. Single room is pretty small but everything is in order and clean. Good location to the city centre and transport connections. Direct bus to the central railway station just opposite the hotel. Plenty of cafes, bars restaurants as well as shops around. Good value for money.
Amazing hotel captivating the true spirit of Imperial Vienna, perfectly located in the city centre and close to most of the touristic sites, very high standard of cleanliness and service, very pleasant, polite and helpful personnel at reception, breakfast and room cleaning services. Our sincere compliments
