Newly opened in May 2015, Motel One Wien-Hauptbahnhof is located right next to Vienna's Main Train Station. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and benefit from free WiFi and a 24-hour reception. Motel One is always good choice! This particular hotel is my favorite because I like the location. Love this hotel! Yes, it is not in the city center, but I like the walk to the center because it is just about 30 minutes, and it is beautiful if you go through Belvedere. However, if you need to get to the center faster you can take an Uber or scooter, it's cheap.

The breakfast and breakfast staff are helpful and very nice. The size of suite room is superb! Room 402 and surroundings are extremely hot, so we could not sleep well. Night reception gentlemen could not help. But when we return in the following week, and had room 301, we lived it!
I have already been in Vienna, but have never visited the Imperial Crypt (German: Kaisergruft), also called the Capuchin Crypt (Kapuzinergruft), only 5 minutes walking distance from St, Stephen's Cathedral. I strongly recommend visiting it! (Hint: Maria Theresia's sarcophagus is truly majestic.) Also, this time I visited the Vienna Central Cemetery (Wiener Zentralfriedhof) and paid respects to Beethoven, Mozart, the Strausses, Brahms, Schubert, Falco, Udo Jurgens etc. etc. I also visited the Art History Museum (Kunsthistorisches Museum). You can easily spend hours there. From Egyptian tresures to intricate golden and intricate pieces to reknown paintings, it is definitely breathtaking. Plus, the building itself is a masterpiece (could NOT take my eyes off of ceilings!).
Public transport is excellent. Trains, subways are in time. Downtown area walking only and pleasant to see around. Cafes, restaurants inviting around seating outside, inside. Naschmarkt is worth to check out. Museums are gorgeous although expensive. The Arsenal museum ((Heeresgeschichliches) displays are extensive but failed to show correct details of the Mach 15, 1848 Hungarian Freedom War: did not tell the truth about the "brave an heroic" Austrian troops, (what the display tells they took care of the uprising), but the Russian army killed the Hungarians and the terrible massacre by Haynau was ignored to mention... Well... be ready this museum is destined to teach about national pride even if it needed some lie to support it...
LOL be sure to check and see if there is a huge festival on the day you arrive... it took us 2 hours to get into downtown because of the Pride Festival. We could have easily just adjusted our timeline but I failed to check. They had every bridge into the old town closed except for one. We had a very interesting tour of the edges of the old town. We stayed just one night and I still saw most of what I personally wanted to see of the old town. We did not venture out any further. At a minimum, I'd stay 2 nights. If you go out early, you can get into the famous coffee houses. I wasn't terribly impressed by any of the coffee I had but sitting across from the Vienna Opera House sipping an espresso has got to be one of the highlights of my stay. Such a beautiful city to wander and explore. We'll certainly be back someday!
Having just visited Budapest (which was fabulous) I am afraid Vienna was a little disappointing. I think Vienna is a must destination for people who are really into culture and arts. The city spreads over a large area and the traffic is heavy with lots of traffic lights. The buildings were impressive and had we done more walking right in the centre we would have enjoyed the city far more. The bus is a good idea as you see a lot of the city in a short space of time. The river cruise was a great disappointment. We spent 20 minutes in the canal waiting for the water to rise before we could continue our cruise.
The only place that was a let down was the Spanish riding school. We were very disappointed. Sisi museum,1 Euro discount for Eu disabled card holders. The Wiener Kaiser Orchester, very enjoyable evening,Thank you Buran. Vienna is a beautiful city.
Location is excellent as only a short walk from both underground station and trams to city centre. I loved the coffee machine in the room that made fresh coffee with the drop-in sachets. It was great to have a fridge and excellent air-conditioning given the heat and humidity in Vienna in August. The rooms are very "arty" in appearance (as is Reception), hence the hotel name. Unable to comment on breakfast as we didn't need one during the week's stay. There were plenty of sockets in the room for charging mobile phones, etc.
My flight was arrived really early in the morning, and the hotel gave me a very early check-in which was very wonderful since I have just had like a 15-hour flight journey! Thank you, hotel Marc Aurel! The location was great, near the city centre. It also near the airport bus stop (less than 3 min walk, and you can even see the hotel sign after walking few steps from the bus stop), and also near the train station U4 Schwedenplatz which also can be reached in less than 5 min walking. The staff was friendly and helpful.
04. Wieden, Vienna
Very close to Wien Hbf train station, and easy to access by local train from Wien Mitte (where the airport connector train comes into the city). This was the main reason I selected this hotel as I had a train out of Vienna the following morning. The host (Israel) is very knowledgable about Vienna and passionate about telling his guests the best places to see in Vienna. Security is good with electronic access card. The room was clean and nicely presented, and had a few simple kitchen amenities to prepare small meals.
Fantastic hotel and great value. Comfortable and clean with amazing staff - they even printed our boarding passes out for us. The hotel is right next to the Nachte Market (we overlooked it from our room), it was only a 5-10 minute walk to the City Centre and the nearest subway stop was only a couple of minutes walk away. Vienna is amazing and I would recommend the city and this hotel without any hesitation (unless you're looking for 5-star luxury, and then you''ll have to pay quite a bit more!)
The location of the hotel was very good for my purposes: Conference at the Vienna International Center. The hotel was next to the U1 line (the most useful line in Vienna), and hence I had easy access to both the conference venue and the city center and all the nice museums. The place was beautiful. The design of the hotel was very nice, there was a nice small outdoors area to relax, and the cleanness levels were exceptional. The breakfast had everything I would expect.
The hotel is situated overlooking Schoenbrunn Palace and the Schlosspark some 5/6km from the main city centre, but linked to the city by various tram routes. taxis always available, but the Vienna public transport is a far more interesting way to travel. The hotel, from the park side (front) is attractive, from the rear entrance not so attractive, but internally is modern, well planned and the rooms are exceptional. The views of Schoenbrunn Palace are lovely
Convinient location, 5 mins by walk from train station from/to airport. Room and entities were clean and heat. There are supermarkets, cafés around in 5-10 mins by walk In general, good option if you have airport (or other) transit and need to sleep one night. Hotel has pretty good location between airport and city centre.
Awesome hotel. Friendly and most helpful staff. Manager was amazing accommodating my special request. Would definitely recommend. By the way, there is the most impressive and fun amusement park right next to the hotel. Such a wonderful experience with the best breakfast in Vienna.
location was great - 2 minutes from the CAT transportation, so easy arrival from and to the airport. delicious breakfast, a well-equipped, and high-quality gym, and a very comfortable room. friendly and helpful staff. I will return to this hotel next time I visit Vienna
Very good hotel near the old city center, everything is within a walking distance with metro/tram/bus just 5 minutes away if need to go to other areas of Vienna. Very comfortable and relatively big room with very good beds. Very clean and very welcoming.
It's a medium sized hotel located outside of the city centre but with a subway station a block away. Rooms weren't big, but enough for two people. Bathroom big and comfortable. Everything was clean and new. I would definitely stay again if in Vienna.
The staff were incredibly helpful by phone, chat, and in person. The restaurant was delicious, for both breakfast and dinner, if a little more expensive than I expected. Beds (and blankets) the best of any hotel I’ve stayed in in Vienna.
04. Wieden, Vienna
The location is outstanding for having nice walks in the city centre. Karl, the host, is extremely nice and attentiv. He gave us free ride from and to the airport plus he gave us really useful tips and hinds about Vienna sightseeing.
K+K Palais Hotel is a great combination of price, parking right in front and city centre location and that's what attracted us to it. If I wanted to stay in Vienna, I would chose this hotel again.
The best Ibis hotel we have stayed in. Service was excellent. The place was spotlessly clean. Easy tram ride into the city centre. Super comfortable beds.
the decor, room layout, accessibility to the city centre are just fantastic. The breakfast is a must!!!!! The best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had!
Great hotel in the city centre, with a lot of Vienna chic, best Schnitzel in town at their own restaurant
Best hotel in Vienna and I was several time. Great location, staff and design. free lounge.
Clean and quiet rooms. Located only a couple hundred meters from all the central sites
excellent ! best thing happened in Europe
