Run by a Dutch couple, the Schöneben in Wald im Pinzgau offers free WiFi and a restaurant serving Austrian and international cuisine. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace with mountain views. This was the most exceptional lodging of our entire 3 1/2-week tour of Bavaria and Austria. The hosts provided the most receptive and enthusiastic greeting and care to ensure our comfort and delight. The husband is an incredible chef that created the most elegant dining experience, and the wife acted as hostess and enthusiastic provider of delectable offerings, all of which were more delicious than any other experience we had while touring. We would enthusiastically return to this accommodation and restaurant and encourage anybody in the vicinity to make sure they don't miss it.
Aparthotel Garni Schranz is only 2.5 mi away from the Krimml Falls in Hohe Tauern National Park. Super cozy place with a great host and breakfast buffet. Cozy garden with a small pool. Close to Krimmler waterfall by car. Free parking. It's also a sports bar, so quite social at night time it seems.
Set just a 5 minute walk away from the town center of Wald, in front of the free ski bus stop, Gästehaus Vorderegger offers bright, spacious apartments in a traditional alpine-style building. Clean and modern apartments, welcoming owners, quite place, all necessary facilities. Nearby - many places for hiking with lovely landscapes. Spar is in 10 minutes walk.
Offering panoramic views of the village of Wald im Pinzgau, Apartment Kerer is a family-run property providing an accommodations unit with a terrace, free WiFi and massages upon request. Very well-equipped, very comfortable, and the view to the mountains is amazing! The owners are really kind and helpful. Absolutely recommended!
This location was not our first choice. As cyclists we were forced to alter our desired destination because of a recent flood that wiped out the accommodations we thought we would have preferred in Krimml. Ironically, our 2-night stay at Schöeneben turned out to be our favorite destination of a 3 1/2-week bicycle tour of Bavaria and Austria. We were easily able to get to our desired destination by bicycle on our full day in between our two nights and incidentally unencumbered with panniers. The location was incredibly beautiful and being up from the river and cycle path offered views that would have been unavailable if our original wish had come true. We were extremely pleased. Schöeneben was not only our lodging, but the restaurant hosted by a husband and wife team provided the most delectable dining experience of our tour. We would enthusiastically return if it becomes possible in our future travels.
Little quiet town, not much to explore in the town itself, but with wonderfull surroundings, and we discovered that there is much places to go for a walk. We came in the winter for skiing and we find this localisation very nice for Wildkogel and Zillertal Arena as well (with 25 minutes to Zillertal by car). Very good accommodation for children. A good peacefull place to relax in silence and among the nice architecture after skiing.
Small, quiet village for people who do not look for lively apres-ski or nightly entertainment. Small but very beautiful and clean swimming pool in center. ( quiet expensive entrance fee though) Close enough to ski Wildkogel Arena and Zillertal Arena. Krimml Waterfalls are also very close by to visit. With guest card or ski pass you have the Gerlos Maut Straße for free.
This little cottage is perfect for a skiing vacation, cosy, clean and close to the slopes. Angelika was also very proactive and always willing to help...she even left truffles and rose! Overall a lovely stay, would definitely recommend!
