Lovely town, amazing beaches all a short drive from town. Just be respectful as a visitor and you'll be embraced by the locals. Pull your city tricks here and the locals will let you know about it.
Batemans Bay is a holiday location on the south coast of NSW. The town itself was very different to my previous visits as there were many closed down shops and empty tenancies. The main street itself was very quiet and the usual tourist population has dwindled to almost non existant. Lets hope more people come back and more of the eateries etc can reopen.
It has been many years since we visited Batemans Bay. Obviously it has changed considerably in that time but what hasn't changed is the natural beauty of the river and the adjacent ocean front. We had small children last time we visited, our priorities this time were to relax, go for a walk and a swim and visit a nice restaurant or two. We weren't disappointed.
We had visitors from Denmark. Was travelling around, only stayed for an afternoon and night. Didn’t see a lots but three great things. Went to Maloney’s beach for a swim, viewed the kangaroos and had the best fish and chips at Bernie’s. Really enjoyed the afternoon
The bay is a beautiful place, we haven't been there since the they built the new bridge... loved the old bridge. Great the the We went to various other places up and down the coast. Moruya, mogo, Durras, kiola, bawley Point, Ulladulla. The boatshed is great for fish and chips. The burger shop had awesome hamburgers. Araluen motel resturant has the best surf and turf in the bay.
Batemans Bay is a lovely little town, but things there are quite outdated and there is nothing exciting or new to do. All the good restaurants closed down, and the access to take away is now limited and overpriced for what is being served. I am not sure where is it coming from but the staff at the shops and restaurants is quite rude and unhappy with their life in general. I wish that there was more to do for families with young children, as well as fresh food access. It is a good spot for a weekend stay, but definitely not a dream holiday destination.
Batemans Bay
The cabins were large for our family of 5 and very clean and tidy. The beds were extremely comfortable and our cabin was beach front with heaps of room for the kids to run around. The amities were fantastic as we walked around the resort. Kids loved the jumping pillow and putt putt. Laundry was clean and so easy to use with the washing machine and dryer app. Even thought we only stayed one night it is definitely a place we will book again when we are down that way.
I have stayed here on numerous occasions over the years. It is now under new management but still maintains its quality. Really enjoy staying here, room always clean and maintained with room cleaned each day. Location is great and the new management have done a wonderful job of the surrounds. The on site cafe is well worth a visit and it is a nice and relaxing walk into the retail area of Batemans Bay. Top spot in Batemans Bay.
Batemans Bay
You stay at this property because of the location, views and price. The Batemans Bay CBD, restaurants and other attractions are mostly within a short, five minute walk. The property is right on the water so the views are excellent (depending on which room you book) and there’s a restaurant and bar onsite. There’s also underground parking onsite.

This place is pet friendly which is why were draw to it. Perfectly located and easy walking distance to the beach, local shops, restaurants and cafes. Has good free wi-fi but no smart TV to watch Netflix or the like on. Plenty of games, books and DVD's if you are interested.

My husband had forgotten his jacket and after giving a call to the hotel, they had found it in their lost and found box and posted it back to our home in Sydney for us. Amazing customer service! Thank you!
The room was quite spacious and you could see at first glance how clean everything was. For a family-run business it was exceptional. The staff were friendly and were always happy to answer any questions.
