At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a great place to visit and provides access to many different experiences in Aouth Queensland. Brisbane is the destination! A wonderful city with top-class academic facilities, a beautiful setting on the river, excellent public water transport, contemporary designs that match the historic fabric of well-preserved sites, and then, the South Bank with is pool, restaurants and trendy vibe, and flying foxes at sunset - a great treat! Travel to the Glass House mountains, Montville and down to the Sunshine Coast on a day trip. I hope to return there soon!

I only visit Brisbane for particular sporting or cultural events and it is good for that.
It is not that easy to move around the city and suburbs due to a lack of any consistency in planning and transport infrastructure. The State government negatively impacts by shutting down rail services on weekends regardless of the fact there is a massive event on. Ignorance being in greater motion than the 100s of trains standing idle.
If not visiting for a particular event or to visit family, you could easily give this city a swerve as it offers little that can't be obtained elsewhere - head to one of the coasts instead.

We were at the cricket (day night test), so had the mornings to explore and brunch, south bank was great, loads of malls and shops around. It was quite vibrant and busy but could have been because of the cricket. There were lots of really sad English cricket fans around which made it even better.

Lovely helpful staff, room was very spacious with an excellent view of the river and South Bank.
We were able to check in early and had no problems with a car park.
Favourite place was the Sky Deck and pool area.

Lucid apartments are in an ideal location for visiting Brisbane. There are many cafes and restaurants near. It was ideal: just across the road from Southbank Cultural Centre (Museum, Library, Art Galleries) . It's also a quick walk across the bridge to Queen Street and the city centre.
We rented two apartments to accommodate the whole family, both had lovely views and balconies. The two bedroom one was shabby, the upholstery on the settee was very grubby. The one bedroom apartment was spacious, well maintained and very comfortable.

The location was perfect, surrounded by different restaurants, not far from the airport and the city or Fortitude Valley. Perfect place to chill. The bed was so comfortable, the pillows were so comfortable, as many hotels that's one thing that I find is not so comfortable. A very friendly neighborhood. The check in and out of the hotel was without any fuzz and was so easy to do. The apartments were peaceful and relaxing. Loved it.

This is a great hotel - we loved the location (walkable to the GABBA, close to a couple of pubs and shops, walkable to the Botanical Gardens, CBD, Southbank area etc), the rooms were great with large balconies, the serve yourself breakfast was really good value ($15), but the best thing was the really happy and friendly staff!!

The apartments were very close to cbd as well as a pedestrian bridge over to Southbank area. Good facilities with pool and gym. Apartment functional with washing machine, dishwasher and kitchen stuff. Pool was great too.
