Perfect Location, Great Stay I had a pleasant stay at Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the CBD. The room was spacious with excellent amenities and a super view overlooking the Brisbane River and The Wheel of Brisbane, which was a real treat. The hotel is conveniently located near all major tourist attractions, and transportation options are easily accessible. I loved that Coles supermarket is just next door in the Uptown shopping mall, making it easy to grab essentials. Queen Street Mall is also just a short walk away, perfect for shopping and dining. The room service was great, and the staff were very accommodating. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Brisbane. Highly recommend!

FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

Brisbane is a great city, we stayed in a suburb called New Farm, we parked our car in the New Farm park for free and a few minutes walk to the ferry, which runs regularly, into Brisbane City. It was a lovely outing, that evening we went to see Cirque d’Soleil which was amazing and of course we stayed at Heal House which was superb. Very central, walking distance to shops and restaurants

We stay with our daughter, but both my husband and I had nasty colds and did not want to pass them on. We love brisbane, everything is green and lush so different from where we come from where the weather is hot and dry. We love South Bank and its surroundings.

Brisbane is larger city and there several hotpots to visit.

Brisbane is larger city and there several hotpots to visit. Southbank, Fortitude Valley, West End are a few places to go around. Activities can be pubs and clubs, live music venues to zoo and ferry hopping. The city is more charming in the night but it suffers from same problem as every other Australian "city" like Melbourne or Sydney. Prices of a world city for services of an RSL club. A visitor needs a thorough search to spot the few really good restaurants and coffee shops. Brisbane seems to be self-sufficient and not tourism orientated. A "mochte gerne" world city.

Pleasantly surprised how much we liked Brisbane.

Pleasantly surprised how much we liked Brisbane. Lovely city for walking around, riverside walks everywhere. We enjoyed 3 hours on the ferry sailing up and back down the river all for 50 cents! New casino/hotel open 'The Star' they had a viewing platform to go up with wonderful views over the city. Visit the Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-Tha they are superb! You can then drive up to the viewing point for wonderful views, A bus goes up to the gardens and the view point if you do not have a car.

I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting it to be rundown. Although it was on a busy road, it was relatively quiet (I did take earplugs) and it looks like the rooms have been updated. It was very comfortable and perfect for my stay. It is very close to the city and the walk to Southbank was under 30 minutes. The Sportsman Hotel (Brisbane's home of drag) is a couple of doors up and was so much fun.
