Hotel in Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Located in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD (Central Business District), Meriton Suites Adelaide Street, Brisbane offer 74 levels of spacious suites with floor-to-ceiling windows.
This was my first ever experience staying in a Meriton Suite establishment. WoW!! It won't be my last. I arrived late afternoon and joined quite a long queue of people checking in. It took some time, but when it came to my turn, I was pleased to see how warm and friendly the check in procedure was. The gentleman looking after me took his time to make me feel welcome and explain how the hotel works. I was booked into Suite 1802. The procedure for getting there, using the Smart lifts was intriguing. You use your room card to access the lifts - by doing so the system also tells you which of the 4 lifts will take you to your floor. My suite was high up and staggeringly huge. I first encountered the large open plan living/dining room and kitchen area. The living room had a round table with 3 chairs, three-seater sofa and separate armchair and coffee table. There was a large flat screen TV hanging on the wall. The kitchen area included a washing machine and dryer, a microwave, oven, dishwasher, kettle, coffee making machine etc, large fridge and freezer. Crockery, cutlery and pots and pans were all in abundance. The separate bedroom included large, comfortable double bed with large windows and another large flat screen telly. As for the separate bathroom, this was fully functional, modern, clean with all the usual amenities. In such a well-equipped place I was just a little surprised to find that the shower was placed in the bathtub. Oh well. Nothing serious. Oh, and the WC was in a separate small room. The air conditioning worked perfectly as did the WiFi. I had traveled up to Brisbane from Sydney earlier that day and using the public transport to get to the Meriton Suites was a bit of a strain. So, being so impressed with my suite, I decided not to go out that evening but stayed in my suite, watched some TV, did some washing and enjoyed the whole experience. Such a pity that I had to leave the next day!

W Brisbane, Emporium Hotel South Bank, and Brisbane Marriott Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Brisbane.
At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.
Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.
The GO-card for bus transports is exasperating and you can't use buses without it. Getting information about accessing a card was almost impossible. The official site said they'd send us one in a few days and we'd phoned them on the advice of the Information Office - quite unhelpful. Luckily the checkout operator in a supermarket explained that we just needed to go to a newsagent to purchase one - which we did - then we got a refund on unspent funds. Not good enough for a city that hopes to attract a number of visitors - and we live in the same state.
friendly people (poms and Scots descendants),, great transport links, plenty of various types of eateries to suit all pockets a week is just long enough to view most highlights, the city has problems with the less desirables just like any other city but felt safe enough,, drinking venues very boisterous but quieten down at night a bit for eating out, Southpark (a small man-made beach resort just on the south side of river excellent for kiddies and safe from alligators!!!!
Pretty boring city overall, mostly an administrative place for the rest of Queensland. People are friendly in general but some can also be quite rude, lots of "trash" people who act like rednecks. Honestly I wouldn't recommend visiting Brisbane as it's mostly a waste of time and pretty expensive too. 15 dollars for a beer is common. Don't waste your time in Australia here, instead go to Sydney, Melbourne or any of the many amazing natural beauty spots available in the country!
Loved the use of being able to hire scooters to get around the city much better then walking and at your own pace for great price ( first time rider ) and honestly was so easy to use. Really surprised myself on how much I enjoyed riding them. Except watch out for people just stepping out in front of your high speeds! Great way to see city can jump off almost anywhere or get back onto one once ready again.
Our 3 night stay at Kangaroo Point was just right to explore Brisbane. Definitely, take a guided river cruise to learn more about the city's history and view some amazing homes. Easy to catch the City Hopper for free travel. Good place to visit if you like walking.
Great city! Plenty of things to see and places to walk around. Queen St Mall is particularly great! It is in a central spot and so many options around! Definitely check out West End if you are into food from different cultures! Great Chinese food, super authentic! Having lived in Beijing for five years and then traveling to Brisbane after not having authentic Chinese food for the past 6 years, it was a dream come true! Public transportation is super easy and abundant! Also, Brisbane has little pockets citywide of free Wi-Fi so it really helps out tourists who don’t have phone service while they are there!
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Great to have a kitchen with many appliances including an oven, gas stove top, dishwasher, washing machine and a big fridge freezer. There was plenty of space throughout, and good to have the choice of air con and fans, balcony was a bonus and it is close to West End, Southbank and South Brisbane. Even though close to the train and other apartments, there is good sound proofing, free parking is another bonus and there is a nice view from the roof top.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
We needed a comfortable place to stay for a few nights following my discharge from Mater Private Hospital in Brisbane. The Capitol Apartments were a great choice as they had everything we needed to rest and recharge in peace. The staff were also accommodating, allowing us to check-in early. The location is close to the Mater Hospital but would also suit those visiting Brisbane for leisure as the apartments are right next to Southbank.
A quality hotel for the price of a motel. Excellent location just a stroll to the river. Well appointed room with full-size bath and large shower. Beautiful view of the city skyline and very comfortable bed. The only hotel I know of right on the edge of the CBD with FREE secure parking. Will absolutely be staying again the next time I am in Brisbane.
I booked two different rooms, on arrival in Brisbane and on my return trip before departure, Queens size bed and King size bed, both beds were really comfortable, very helpful staff made it work for me ! thanks again ! The hotel was located between the airport and the city, bus and train in minute walking distance. very practical !
A well presented quality hotel with great sized rooms with all amenities. Decor is classic style. No1: bed and shower were great. The Royal Albert is located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD with shopping, restaurants and entertainment in easy walking distance. Parking on site was an added bonus and the staff were great.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
The view is beautiful, the location of the hotel is really good. You can go walking to CBD, Southbank, and wouldn't be more than 15 min (there were plenty of scooters at the door to be hired also). The bed is comfortable, the room was clean and although it's facing a busy road the noise wasn't so bad.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Our stay at Vine Apartments was outstanding! Very impressed with the facilties, apartment size, kitchen setup, bathroom and comfort of the bed. The location was excellent- a short walk to Southbank or West End- lots of excellent food nearby. Britney has always been so helpful and our stay was great- thanks!
Spring Hill, Brisbane
The best part of the place is its closed proximity to the CBD area. The room was large enough for the two of us but could have used a little more cleaning around the bed area and the toilet. Since it’s a hotel, I did expect to have been provided with slippers but in overall, it was a good stay.
Milton, Brisbane
The Milton is in an ideal location- above a train station with easy access to the CBD, the river and other parts of Brisbane. The apartment itself is excellent- comfortable and well appointed, with an excellent kitchen which is better equipped than other serviced apartments.
My room was very comfortable and had all the amenities I needed. The furnishings are nice, the bed was very comfortable. It was also very quiet despite clearly being a busy weekend at the hotel. Also an easy walk to Southbank and the CBD, as well as to Roma Street Station.
The best thing about this hotel is the central location in Brisbane CBD and short walk to both Roma Street and Central Train Stations for visitors who are travelling. This is a great location to explore Brisbane city on foot. Huge new TV in room. The room was clean.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Excellent location within walking distance of the CBD, Southbank, buses, trains, and everything else you need. A very spacious apartment for a one bedroom apartment and very clean. Much more than we expected when we made the booking.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Great location, great view (especially for Brisbane Riverfire). The apartment is well equipped. Perfect for our 2 weeks stay in Brisbane. Many shops and restaurants around the place. At a walking distance from CBD and Southbank.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Location and ammenities are fantastic. Easy walk to most of the things you would want in Brisbane CBD and Southbank. Easy access to accomodation and great view of Storey Bridge, particularly at night.
Spring Hill, Brisbane
- Friendly staff - Centrally located near central station and Brisbane CBD - Stylish shared spaces - Free city bus stops right in front of the hotel (Spring Hill Loop)
The hotel was close to everything, walking distance to the galleries and the cbd, and all the great restaurants in Southbank, yet so quiet and very comfortable.
Spring Hill, Brisbane
Location is close to Brisbane CBD. A 15 minute walk and you'll be in the center of the action. Room comes with laundry facilities, kitchenette and balcony.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Easy spacious parking for 4wd. Clean and central to everything in Westend/ Southbank with easy walk or free ferry to Brisbane CBD. Will be back!
