The staff accommodated an early access to room as I had booked a spa before check in. The room was amazing, so luxurious and funky. Everything was amazing. It was my birthday so was a very special stay. I used the spa, had a treatment, ate and drank on the wet deck. I fully appreciated the 12pm check out. I ordered room service and really made the most of the room.

FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

The only plus about this place was its free parking and location, close to public transport (train station about 10 mins walk and buses around the corner) but as it is privately managed the keys had to be collected and returned from local IGA supermarket which was difficult to find as it is set back from a main road in another complex with no parking or stopping out the front. The apartment was small with a fairly modern kitchen, furniture and comfortable couch. Unfortunately the whole place had a very unpleasant stale smell and we had to keep the doors open all the time to let in some fresh air. It overlooked other unit blocks and an adjacent building site which started up at 6.30am and unfortunately there was a loud party in the unit below us until 4.30am one night. Only provisions provided were toilet paper and shampoo, no soap or body wash but a completely empty container left in the shower and the hairdryer was broken. Previous guests sheets, towels etc. had been washed and left in the dryer. No tea, sugar, coffee, dish cloth or washing up liquid. Very poorly equipped kitchen so don't bother to eat in as there is nothing to cook with except a frying pan. There is a microwave and dishwasher which had cockroach baits in it. Unable to access wi-fi as no code provided. Host completely uncontactable and did not respond at all during our stay, a common complaint we noticed from guests on other booking platforms. Very poor customer service and the description misleading, it did not have its own private pool as advertised but there was access to a communal pool in the adjacent building complex which is run independently. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and we would definitely not recommend staying here unless it has a deep clean and provides the basic provisions and facilities expected for the money.

Brisbane is good, just not a lot to do... Unlike Sydney, Melbourne everything here shuts early, although it's easy to get around Brisbane as it's so much smaller than most cities. But Brisbane City does have nature, mountain lookouts and hiking trails right on its doorstep so in under 20 mins drive you're surrounded by nature and bushland.

Location is good, lots of bars and restaurants in the same street. 10 mins walk to fortitude valley train station/airport train, short taxi or train to Brisbane CBD. Hotel looks new, modern, clean, staff are nice.... Room was very spacious and had a good minibar, nice gin, nice half bottle of red wine. Coffee pods were nice. Good view from room.
