Travelers who stayed in Brisbane near Brisbane Airport (BNE) have said good things about Pullman Brisbane Airport, ibis Brisbane Airport, and Novotel Brisbane Airport.
We like the Southbank area and the walk along the river. Walked to Storey bridge and were delighted to find the busy restaurants and bars at Howard Smith wharves. Were able to hop on the free ferry back to Southbank (be careful, as the larger ferry is a paid trip). Great way to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon.
The domestic airport is very good unlike in Melbourne you don’t have to walk a kilometre to get out of the terminal if you are flying Jetstar. After leaving your flight at the terminal you only have to walk 200-300 metres and you are on the air-train to the city. This reminds me of Japan very simple and efficient. Other than the airport I cannot recommend Brisbane. You would think they would have volunteer people posted throughout the city to help visitors. Eating in the city is good but don’t expect any service. It looks like one big construction site wait till it is finished to visit this city.
Brisbane is a great place to visit with lots to see and do, great choice of places to visit and dine it's even better if you can find quality accommodation at a fair price. Read reviews before booking. Ensure you can download another app other than google maps to avoid being diverted through un-necessary tolls.
The river area is lovely for a walk around, Just across the River from the Heritage hotel. Casino is adjacent to hotel if you like a gamble. Opa Bar & Mezz was great for a meal. Ferry trip up the river was nice to see Brisbane from the water. Shops and restaurants were all very close.
We love Brisbane especially at night, we could walk around the city all night long admiring the lit up old architecture such as St George square or treasury casino. So much to do within walking distance. The downfall is the e-scooters, although I see the appeal most people were using them incorrectly, sometime a danger to pedestrians. There is quite a few barricades around South Bank currently, but we look forward to seeing the upgrades made for the future.
Great choices of restaurants and entertainment especially at Southbank. The electric scooters are a fun way to get around. The botanic gardens were lovely and lit up at night and the walk along the river side was beautiful well worth the effort.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
We booked for a standard room, but were upgraded to an executive suite. The apartment exceeded our expectations, and the standard of the room, furnishings, and amenities was excellent. The views over the Brisbane River were spectacular, and we spent a good deal of time just looking out the large windows. The hotel is in a great location in the CBD, with many eating places nearby. It is also within easy walking distance to St George's Square, public transport and thee Southbank precinct.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
I was seeing an evening show at QPAC and this was the perfect location to stay. The hotel was close to QPAC and the surrounding streets and hotel entrance were well lit so I didn't feel nervous walking back after the show. My room was very clean and faced the river & city so you had a lovely view sitting out on the balcony. This hotel is also ideal for visiting anything located at Brisbane's South Bank
absolutely loved signature street art integrated into architecture - this bold statement of confidence in the heart of Brisbane city, practised by great reception staff, nothing too hard for weary travellers and so close to Fortitude Valley dining and retail expressive of great Aus design.. wonderful way meet the city of Brisbane for the first time Will definitely recommend to friends and family
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Location was good within walking distance of the CBD, Southbank and restaurants Upon arrival I was told that I had already stayed at the hotel on the 5 Feb, even though I had changed my booking to March - apparently booking.com had not forwarded the information on to the hotel. However, the receptionist was able to find us a room that was an upgrade at no extra cost.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
We had a 3 night stay in Brisbane to visit our son. The location could not have been better for access to transport, shopping and sightseeing. We could easily walk to the CBD, Southbank, trains and river cats. It was also great to have a separate lounge and balcony for others to visit. A washing machine is a great help on holidays too. We will be back!
I booked two different rooms, on arrival in Brisbane and on my return trip before departure, Queens size bed and King size bed, both beds were really comfortable, very helpful staff made it work for me ! thanks again ! The hotel was located between the airport and the city, bus and train in minute walking distance. very practical !
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
The hotel is at an excellent location in Brisbane CBD close to every interesting place and shops in the city area Very nice and comfortable rooms that could accomodate anyone for long term stays as well because these rooms are proper apartments. Very quiet.
Milton, Brisbane
I was upgraded on arrival and the apartment was super spacious and modern and clean. The location was great - able to walk along the river to Southbank and CBD. Also, lots of restaurants to choose from in close proximity. Overall the feeling was excellent.
Not sure whether our room was upgraded, but it was amazing. Exceptional views over the river, very spacious, equipped with more than one could need for a short travel stay in Brisbane. Walking distance to almost anywhere needed in the CBD. A solid 5 star.
Bathroom was stunning, amazing shower and toiletries and bed was a dream as advertised! Rydges really impresses! Easy parking and easy access into CBD or Fortitude Valley shoos and restaurants I will be back when staying in Brisbane!!!
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Location wise the hotel is in very close walking distance to the botanical gardens and the CBD. Southbank is a further walk from the hotel. The staff were also very friendly and easy to talk to. My children loved the pool on level 40.
Did not have breakfast at the hotel. The location is close to many of Brisbane's cultural venues, also Southbank Parklands are right on the doorstep. Brisbane city is also a short walk or public transport is close by.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
The location and amenities were fantastic. Spectacular views of Brisbane City. Handy to the free city hopper ferry and close to the wonderful Southbank parklands. Highly recommend a stay at this property.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Location was good, walking distance to CBD, Brisbane River, Botanical gardens and Southbank but accommodation was not satisfactory.
Spring Hill, Brisbane
Good location - easy enough walk to the CBD, Fortitude Valley etc, friendly staff, Fully equipped and spacious room.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Location to Southbank and Brisbane city was very good and the view from the room to the city was lovely
Very comfortable bed! Great view. Incredible location, so close to QPAC, Southbank, and CBD.
This is my first stay in Stamford Brisbane, the hotel's location is perfect close to different attractions. The view from our room on the bridge and the river was breathtaking.. The staff were so friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this hotel
Really exceptional; the building itself and its location are great but for me the upbeat personalities of the staff stand out. We got a good deal because it was Covid time which will have flavoured my perception but even so, I can't fault the place.
The staff were very welcoming and helpfull. The Hotel was in an excellent position, we could walk to South Bank. The Room was very comfortable and the view was beautiful.
