Very attractive city. Has a very young, into the future vibe. Great to hear live bands at pubs and the general vibrancy of the city. It is ALIVE and going forward. I’m 73 but loved the welcoming, embracing, let’s enjoy life vibe of Brisbane.
A city with Buzz. Lots of people out and about at night. Feels secure and welcoming in the city. Well maintained gardens, clean environments at Southbank with centrally located museums, art galleries, cultural events and the wonderful pool area for families. Transport upgrades and building works meant some delays to travel acrosss the city.
We filled in 5 full days as one of the group had not been to Brisbane prior. If you are a senior Brisbane City Cats are free from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 pm and again after the afternoon peak. It is a 2 hour round trip if you do the complete stretch of the river and return. Highly recommend the free Brisbane greeter walking tours. Approx 3 hrs in length. Google for the locations available and make sure you book in advance so that you don't miss out. We also did a city hall tour(45 min) and a separate city hall clock tower tour (15 min). Don't do the city hall tour on a Tuesday when they do free Mayoral concerts though; otherwise you won't get to see much as you won't be able to see the hightlight which is the auditorium. Even less if it is a monthly council meeting day which happened to coincide with our scheduled tour. Did a day trip down to the Goldie to meet friends for lunch. Allow about 2 hours in total with connection times each way if you decide to go by public transport. Smooth transition with train to Helensvale and then transfer to tram that runs all the way down to Broadbeach. Highly recommend the Shingle Inn cafe; the oldest cafe in Brisbane that is located within the City Hall. The decor just transforms you into a different time with superb ambience and worth it just to take a photo or two. But make sure you stay for the Devonshire tea or a coffee and cake if you prefer. Make sure you pop in to the rear of the Visitor Info Centre in the Queen St Mall .... it is the original foyer of the Regent Theatre. All of the facades of the old buildings remain in Queen St Mall but they have been bulldozed and re-purposed behind. This part of the old theatre has been saved. Brisbane has grown up a lot and is becoming a destination in its own right.
Travelled for surgery. My husband got to roam about a bit. I think he enjoyed the West End precinct and the City Mall. Got to enjoy Maya Restaurant on Anne St Fortitude Valley before my surgery. That was really nice.
Whilst we spent most of our trip on the Sunshine Coast, we were really pleased to have spent 4 days in Brisbane. We had lived there 35 years ago but hadn't been back for over 5 years. The city was vibrant and so easy to get around. We used a bus once and train twice and it was so easy and convenient. Definitely a lot going on in Brisbane and Queensland and we'd return ASAP.
Brisbane has become a wonderfully vibrant city, both friendly & welcoming to visitors with lots on offer. An easy accessible Sky train from airport into the city ($14 one way) & easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and river activities. Free bus loops & city cat ferries. Enjoyed the special coloured lighting at night of Victoria Bridge & donation entry to a great Museum. A safe, friendly & helpful City.
I booked two different rooms, on arrival in Brisbane and on my return trip before departure, Queens size bed and King size bed, both beds were really comfortable, very helpful staff made it work for me ! thanks again ! The hotel was located between the airport and the city, bus and train in minute walking distance. very practical !
A well presented quality hotel with great sized rooms with all amenities. Decor is classic style. No1: bed and shower were great. The Royal Albert is located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD with shopping, restaurants and entertainment in easy walking distance. Parking on site was an added bonus and the staff were great.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
The hotel is in a lovely, historic building and beautifully restored. Everything is in new condition. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Location was ideal for Southbank access and city attractions. Donna Chang restaurant on the ground floor was very good but super popular so need to book in advance.
The location is walking distance to central Brisbane CBD and Southbank. There are lots of food places within walking distance. There is parking on site though limited spaces for $28/ night and a narrow typical city parking. There was a hair dryer and a straightener in my room. They provided toiletries.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
- Perfect location - Amazing view of Brisbane CBD - Clean and well-scented facility - 2BDRM Apartment came with all appliances + white goods - Loading zone right outside of the facility (great for Ubers) - Optional secure underground Carpark - Had a rubbish chute on every level to make things easy!
Third time staying here ... good value and an excellent location. Easy 900m walk from South Brisbane station across the bridge - makes it an ideal base for Southbank adventures and easy to access the City also. Awesome shower, bed is comfy. Buffet breakfast downstairs was good. No complaints.
My room was very comfortable and had all the amenities I needed. The furnishings are nice, the bed was very comfortable. It was also very quiet despite clearly being a busy weekend at the hotel. Also an easy walk to Southbank and the CBD, as well as to Roma Street Station.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
The apartment was so very clean, 10/10. Staff was very welcoming. Ive stayed at many apartments in Brisbane, and this hotel is far the best ....the bed was so comfy...the whole setting was absolutely beautiful...I will be staying there again on my next visit
Woolloongabba, Brisbane
Clean, comfortable, and safe. Free, inside parking. Free laundry facilities. Walkable neighborhood. (PA stands for Princess Anastasia. The apartments are directly across the street from a hospital of the same name.) Quick drive to the Brisbane CBD.
Excellent location close to CBD , & within walking distance of everything of interest, Southbank , restaurants , botanical gardens, & generally a shopping paradise . Brisbane has definitely become my favourite city to visit .
Staff were fantastic, the room was small but perfect for our night. Close enough to CBD and city for cheap fares around $8 which is great. Can walk if your wanting a beautiful scenic walk. Real fast was Amazing! Great hotel.
Hamilton, Brisbane
Location with close proximity to brisbane city and the airport was a key factor why we chose this apartment. It was convenient, there was a pool, had the basics. Very close to the Hamilton Hotel where the food was great.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Right in the CBD of BRIsbane. Great price for 4 night stay. No room service for cheaper price but we are happy to do our own. Bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. Close walk to Southbank and Botanical Gardens.
Free easycar parking. Very clean and recently updated hotel Great location ,next door to the Princess Theater, walking distance to southbank, cbd and Gabba, numerous eateries in the streets surrounding the hotel.
Very cool & modern hotel in the CBD overlooking the river and Southbank. Great attention to detail in room fitout. Certainly more interesting & fun than its muted contemporaries. Highly recommend.
We stayed at the apartments for State of Origin and loved the location and staff. Lovely views over Southbank and the Brisbane River. The staff were really friendly and the room was exceptional.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Very clean and spacious apartments. Located in a very good location in the Brisbane CBD. Friendly and helpful staff who provided a professional service with check-in and check-out.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
The bed was super soft and comfortable The room was a great size and very nice The hotel is very close to the city centre and only 8 minutes away from Fortitude Valley
The hotel was close to everything, walking distance to the galleries and the cbd, and all the great restaurants in Southbank, yet so quiet and very comfortable.
