The domestic airport is very good unlike in Melbourne you don’t have to walk a kilometre to get out of the terminal if you are flying Jetstar. After leaving your flight at the terminal you only have to walk 200-300 metres and you are on the air-train to the city. This reminds me of Japan very simple and efficient. Other than the airport I cannot recommend Brisbane. You would think they would have volunteer people posted throughout the city to help visitors. Eating in the city is good but don’t expect any service. It looks like one big construction site wait till it is finished to visit this city.
Brisbane is a great place to visit with lots to see and do, great choice of places to visit and dine it's even better if you can find quality accommodation at a fair price. Read reviews before booking. Ensure you can download another app other than google maps to avoid being diverted through un-necessary tolls.
The river area is lovely for a walk around, Just across the River from the Heritage hotel. Casino is adjacent to hotel if you like a gamble. Opa Bar & Mezz was great for a meal. Ferry trip up the river was nice to see Brisbane from the water. Shops and restaurants were all very close.
We love Brisbane especially at night, we could walk around the city all night long admiring the lit up old architecture such as St George square or treasury casino. So much to do within walking distance. The downfall is the e-scooters, although I see the appeal most people were using them incorrectly, sometime a danger to pedestrians. There is quite a few barricades around South Bank currently, but we look forward to seeing the upgrades made for the future.
Great choices of restaurants and entertainment especially at Southbank. The electric scooters are a fun way to get around. The botanic gardens were lovely and lit up at night and the walk along the river side was beautiful well worth the effort.
We came from Tassie to catchup with friends and family - 3 nights at the Ibis Bris Airport was our last stop. The weather was awesome and getting around in our hire care was easy. Just need better signage for hotels.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Million dollar view; friendly, helpful staff. Large bathtub with shower. Big and v. comfortable bed. This is a hotel 50/50 with apartments, so you have the best of both: independence of an apartment with daily house-keeping. By the river, restaurants everywhere. 5-minute walk to public ferry services. Very quiet despite proximity to the Story Bridge. 7-minute walk to main CBD. Found by sheer chance, Oakwood will be the base for our next stay in Brisbane.
Bowen Hills, Brisbane
Went to a gig at The Triffid which was $7.50 Uber from the hotel. 15min walk from Fortitude Valley Mall. So if you’re heading out in the valley but don’t want to stay in the heart of it Code Apartments is a good little distance. The street isn’t that busy also so you don’t hear all that city traffic. The room was large and clean. Balcony was big and the kitchen has all you need. Definitely staying again.
The location was great, close to CBD (15 min walk), public transport, heaps of restaurants, museum, art gallery, library and riverbank parklands. Lots to do and see. The hotel was clean, functional and the price was right. The staff provided information and were very helpful. Roughly a $45 Uber 30 minute ride from Brisbane airport (at about 10pm so less traffic).
A quality hotel for the price of a motel. Excellent location just a stroll to the river. Well appointed room with full-size bath and large shower. Beautiful view of the city skyline and very comfortable bed. The only hotel I know of right on the edge of the CBD with FREE secure parking. Will absolutely be staying again the next time I am in Brisbane.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
I stayed in building 1 which had direct access to Manning St. The apartments are within walking distance to the Brisbane CBD, Southbank, QPAC, supermarkets and great restaurants. Very quiet location. Great rooftop area to sit and have a drink. Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Good location close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, Iga store close to West end Close to the Southbank restaurants about 1 kilometre Close to the south bank railway station ( about 800 meters so we could travel directly from the airport to the South Brisbane station. Even the Brisbane CBD was easily reached by train.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Great location in the center of Brisbane. This hotel is brand new and has been decorated with a designer touch. Great job of moderinzing the bathrooms/apartments while still maintaining some of the original details of the lobby. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this hotel and would recommend it in a heartbeat.
The staff were lovely and check in and check out was very fast and easy. Parking was very reasonable at $15 per day. The location of the hotel is excellent. It was 15-20 minutes' walk/a few minutes' bus ride to the locations we needed to go - the QPAC, Roma Street Parkland and the CBD.
Milton, Brisbane
I was upgraded on arrival and the apartment was super spacious and modern and clean. The location was great - able to walk along the river to Southbank and CBD. Also, lots of restaurants to choose from in close proximity. Overall the feeling was excellent.
