We like the Southbank area and the walk along the river. Walked to Storey bridge and were delighted to find the busy restaurants and bars at Howard Smith wharves. Were able to hop on the free ferry back to Southbank (be careful, as the larger ferry is a paid trip). Great way to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon.
The domestic airport is very good unlike in Melbourne you don’t have to walk a kilometre to get out of the terminal if you are flying Jetstar. After leaving your flight at the terminal you only have to walk 200-300 metres and you are on the air-train to the city. This reminds me of Japan very simple and efficient. Other than the airport I cannot recommend Brisbane. You would think they would have volunteer people posted throughout the city to help visitors. Eating in the city is good but don’t expect any service. It looks like one big construction site wait till it is finished to visit this city.
Brisbane is a great place to visit with lots to see and do, great choice of places to visit and dine it's even better if you can find quality accommodation at a fair price. Read reviews before booking. Ensure you can download another app other than google maps to avoid being diverted through un-necessary tolls.
The river area is lovely for a walk around, Just across the River from the Heritage hotel. Casino is adjacent to hotel if you like a gamble. Opa Bar & Mezz was great for a meal. Ferry trip up the river was nice to see Brisbane from the water. Shops and restaurants were all very close.
We love Brisbane especially at night, we could walk around the city all night long admiring the lit up old architecture such as St George square or treasury casino. So much to do within walking distance. The downfall is the e-scooters, although I see the appeal most people were using them incorrectly, sometime a danger to pedestrians. There is quite a few barricades around South Bank currently, but we look forward to seeing the upgrades made for the future.
Great choices of restaurants and entertainment especially at Southbank. The electric scooters are a fun way to get around. The botanic gardens were lovely and lit up at night and the walk along the river side was beautiful well worth the effort.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Reception staff were really helpful and friendly. We parked our car in the underground carpark. The reception staff gave us a space on Basement 8 so that we could use the Uptown Lifts which were situated here and went straight to our apartment on the 32nd floor - very convenient. Since Arise is brand new, everything in the apartment is new, too. Easy walk to everything you need in Brisbane CBD, Eagle Street restaurants and convenient bus links to Southbank and beyond. Botanic Gardens just across the road.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
We booked for a standard room, but were upgraded to an executive suite. The apartment exceeded our expectations, and the standard of the room, furnishings, and amenities was excellent. The views over the Brisbane River were spectacular, and we spent a good deal of time just looking out the large windows. The hotel is in a great location in the CBD, with many eating places nearby. It is also within easy walking distance to St George's Square, public transport and thee Southbank precinct.
Hotel Alpha was a really great place to stay located super close to everything! Definitely the place to be if you're after accommodation within the city heart. All staff were super friendly & helpful + we had a huge room with a really comfortable bed. Also the block out curtains are a huge win if you like a sleep-in or even if you've had a big night out in fortitude valley.
I have stayes at City edge hotel three times now and find it to be excellent value in a lovely location very handy the view from the room is a brick wall but still staff there are lovely and the price is fantastic Brisbane is a beautiful city and I enjoyed the day on the Sunshine Coast and Boggo Road jail also Queen Street mall and the beautiful Southbank area definitely will return 😀
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Location was good within walking distance of the CBD, Southbank and restaurants Upon arrival I was told that I had already stayed at the hotel on the 5 Feb, even though I had changed my booking to March - apparently booking.com had not forwarded the information on to the hotel. However, the receptionist was able to find us a room that was an upgrade at no extra cost.
The Location of this hotel, in my opinion, is the best in Brisbane if you are looking for a night or two in the city. It is in the heart of Howard Smith Wharf and very close to the night spots of Brisbane. A short scooter ride will get you to Southbank. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Excellent location if going to QPAC. Awesome restaurants and pubs close by - LOVE Southbank Beer Garden and The Pig & Whistle. Beautiful walk across Victoria Bridge over to Brisbane CBD - beautiful breakfast at The Pancake Manor, be sure to book though! The view of the river and city was spectacular.
The best thing about this hotel is the central location in Brisbane CBD and short walk to both Roma Street and Central Train Stations for visitors who are travelling. This is a great location to explore Brisbane city on foot. Huge new TV in room. The room was clean.
Milton, Brisbane
I was upgraded on arrival and the apartment was super spacious and modern and clean. The location was great - able to walk along the river to Southbank and CBD. Also, lots of restaurants to choose from in close proximity. Overall the feeling was excellent.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
The hotel was very nice , close to southbank shopping , restaurants , river . Not too far from CBD , botanical garden as well . It was a pleasure to walk along the river . Very pleasant stay . Very clean . Staff was very friendly and helpful.
We selected this location for its proximity to the hospital - which is fantastic, walking distance. As a bonus it is also close to Brisbane's Southbank, offering a multitude of restaurants and walking options.
Milton, Brisbane
Beautiful boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Clean and spacious apartment. Ferry and train in close proximity. 30 minutes walk to the CBD. Restaurants just down the road. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
View was amazing. Big wide windows everywhere. Towering over the river and the Wheel of Brisbane, the lights, the bridges. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking on site, location right in the CBD.
This hotel is a little gem right in the middle of the city! Lovely staff, well equipped rooms and an excellent pool area. We were able to walk to Southbank, Riverside and the heart of the CBD in no time.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Great location and central within Brisbane CBD. Breakfast was good as room service but not enough options. Room was very nice, spacious, comfortable and well appointed.
Relatively cheap and close to the station. The hotel has a nice outdoor cafe/bar area and you can walk into the city if you like a good stroll.
Toowong, Brisbane
Very convenient location just on the outskirt of Brisbane CBD. Eateries close by if you're needing a bite to eat.
Good location, near Southbank Parklands and the city, but still a quiet location. Cheap and cheerful hotel.
very good location with easy access to Southbank West End and the CBD. on site parking.
Comfy bed and Good size Bath.
