W Brisbane, Emporium Hotel South Bank, and Brisbane Marriott Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Brisbane.
At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.
Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.
Brisbane is easy to get around. The train network is efficient as are the buses. The CBD is walkable and the ferries on the Brisbane River are fun. If travelling with children, check out the Street Beach on South Bank and also the museum. Loads of child friendly places to eat and an excellent playground
Brisbane is a nice city and the mall is easy to use. Needing a GO-card to travel on buses is exasperating because it's difficult to find out how to get one. The Information office told us to ring Translink who, in turn, told us that we could apply and they'd send us one - not helpful. Luckily the checkout operator in a supermarket told us we could buy them at the newsagent which we did, and then we got any unused funds refunded. Brisbane wants to be a tourist town with floods of visitors, well, they need to do better in getting information to visitors. We're not even overseas visitors, we live in the same state, and felt we were getting too much incorrect information.
friendly people (poms and Scots descendants),, great transport links, plenty of various types of eateries to suit all pockets a week is just long enough to view most highlights, the city has problems with the less desirables just like any other city but felt safe enough,, drinking venues very boisterous but quieten down at night a bit for eating out, Southpark (a small man-made beach resort just on the south side of river excellent for kiddies and safe from alligators!!!!
Pretty boring city overall, mostly an administrative place for the rest of Queensland. People are friendly in general but some can also be quite rude, lots of "trash" people who act like rednecks. Honestly I wouldn't recommend visiting Brisbane as it's mostly a waste of time and pretty expensive too. 15 dollars for a beer is common. Don't waste your time in Australia here, instead go to Sydney, Melbourne or any of the many amazing natural beauty spots available in the country!
Loved the use of being able to hire scooters to get around the city much better then walking and at your own pace for great price ( first time rider ) and honestly was so easy to use. Really surprised myself on how much I enjoyed riding them. Except watch out for people just stepping out in front of your high speeds! Great way to see city can jump off almost anywhere or get back onto one once ready again.
Our 3 night stay at Kangaroo Point was just right to explore Brisbane. Definitely, take a guided river cruise to learn more about the city's history and view some amazing homes. Easy to catch the City Hopper for free travel. Good place to visit if you like walking.
Brisbane
I like the apartments because I have been to this place for work to attend work conferences starting from Year 2014. It's like a family kind of relationship with the hotel where you want to stay for longer period of time. The rooms has a lot of space and drawers to store all your clothes and personal items which allows you to organised it neatly for daily use. The location is very close to the shopping mall and the library for personal use. The transport service is well linked to travel around the Brisbane and City area 💖!!!
What a fabulous grand old hotel! Olde world charm but beautifully renovated and presented. Spacious apartment room with kitchenette and washing / drying machines. Comfortable bed with blanket, not doona. Hot shower. Quiet. Convenient to everything in Brisbane CBD. Good eating nearby. Courteous staff.
Hamilton, Brisbane
Close to the Northshore Eat Street was a bonus, plus Fortitude Valley, Brisbane CBD and Southbank were nearby as well. Had loads of places to go within a short distance of driving. Room was awesome for the price, comfortable bed, aircon was a major plus
Location was great in the CBD but not right in the hustle of the mall. Easy walk access to Mall, Southbank, sights, food option & shops. Hotel restaurant is real quality with amazing food, wood fired pizza and the best coffee in Brisbane.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was modern and clean. Great view over South Brisbane out to the mountains in the West. Walking distance to Southbank, Brisbane CBD and West End. Lots to do and great dining/drinking options.
Staff were fantastic, the room was small but perfect for our night. Close enough to CBD and city for cheap fares around $8 which is great. Can walk if your wanting a beautiful scenic walk. Real fast was Amazing! Great hotel.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
The room itself was fine, my disappointment comes from it not being what was advertised. For a 30th birthday treat it was a disappointment. The location is great, few mins walk to southbank and cheap Uber to cbd/valley.
Hamilton, Brisbane
Location with close proximity to brisbane city and the airport was a key factor why we chose this apartment. It was convenient, there was a pool, had the basics. Very close to the Hamilton Hotel where the food was great.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
The location was fine, an easy walk to the Brisbane CBD and Southbank, Qpac Event Centre and many restaurants and bars. Coles was only a couple of blocks away. The room size was adequate. The pool facilities were good.
Very nice hotel, friendly check-in staff, roomy apartment, very comfortable beds, large flat screen TV's in every room, espresso machine, walking distance to the shopping area of CBD, or a bit further to Southbank.
Staff were very friendly and helpful after we got stuck in Brisbane due to Victorian border being closed. The hotel is in a great spot in the centre of the city. Close by to everything you could possibly want.
Brisbane Central Business District, Brisbane
Very clean and spacious apartments. Located in a very good location in the Brisbane CBD. Friendly and helpful staff who provided a professional service with check-in and check-out.
Nth in particular. I don't know why hotels in Brisbane are so high priced. We had to book Turbot because it was the cheapest one near the city that night.
Bowen Hills, Brisbane
Great apartment close to the Brisbane CBD. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again when in Brisbane.
