FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

Loved the 50c fares to travel on trains, buses and city cat on river. So many things to do - shows to see-museum and art galleries. Take a trip downstream to Westend and walk up Boundary street full of Op shops, cafes, bookshops. Take the city cat to Bulimba and visit the best french pastry shop Le Caprice for coffee and pastry ..you will not regret it !!

Southbank and the Cultural Centre are fantastic areas providing good food, convenient transport connections and access to great entertainment. People are generally very friendly and helpful. The only downside is traffic congestion on the M1 which delayed our arrival.

Very easy to navigate and get around.

Very easy to navigate and get around. We walked a short display to Fortitude valley train station and made our way to South Bank for less than $5 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Had the best time at Sth Bank park and man made pool, then a great dinner, drinks and live music at a pub 5min walking distance from the pool, easy walk back to train station. 3 happy exhausted kids and 2 happy adults

The ferry ride from Teneriffe to the CBD was the highlight with fabulous views of the riverside homes and apartments and the CBD.- The bars and restaurants near our hotel in Fortitude Valley were great too and we enjoyed some excellent meals.

Brisbane is a great city to visit.

Brisbane is a great city to visit. This wasn't my first time, yet each time I visit I find different sites to visit. I particularly enjoyed the walking tour I did of the city. I learnt lots of interesting information. My guide was Nicola and she conducted a great tour.

Parking was excellent! We find it one of the trickier factors in Brisbane and this garage and system was very easy and spacious! The apartments are a great size. The properly functional balcony and view is awesome too! The pool is clean and the tennis crt is great. Lots of great restaurants fairly close and the river cat into the city or Southbank.

We have stayed at Opera Apartments a few times now and always enjoy our time there although our room wasn't quite as good as we've had on previous occasions. The location however is excellent being close to all the facilities on offer in South Brisbane and Southbank, including the train station.

The Royal Albert is located right in the middle of the Brisbane CBD. This is great for shopping, dining and shows. It is a heritage hotel that has very large rooms and everything you need for a stay in the city.
