Cape Trib Beach House 3 stars

Cape Tribulation

Set on 7 acres nestled within the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Trib Beach House boasts a private white sand beach area and an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can enjoy a daily beach bonfire. To live in the middle of the rainforest was so wonderful. All the palms and trees around "my" cottage - I loved it. To sit on the loggia, a cold beer (from the fridge that is in the room) on the table. What could be more exciting.

Daintree Deep Forest Lodge 3.5 stars

Cape Tribulation

Surrounded by rainforest jungle in the Daintree National Park, Deep Forest Lodge offers secluded apartments with private bathroom, basic cooking facilities and a barbecue on each verandah. Daintree Deep Forest Lodge is the Garden of Eden in Paradise. With Marie as the ever-friendly and helpful guardian to keep the place in its pristine condition and the sweet host to her guests. The apartment we stayed in is fully equipped and built in such a way that the porch can be used as part of the house. Very nice for when it rains (and it did a lot when we visited). It is all very clean and comfortable, with an authentic twitch. Marie knows a lot of the forest, the surroundings, what to do and what not, where to go best etc. In the almost 30 years she and Laurie have lived there, she has created a beautiful garden surrounding the lodge. There is a local Cassowary, which inspects the premises every day, with his chick. There are many other birds around, fruit doves, honey eaters, Sunbirds, Mountain Thornbills and Black Butcherbirds and there is a small roosting of Flying Foxes on the edge of the garden. A place to come back to.

Rainforest Hideaway

Cape Tribulation

Set on a 5-acre tropical rainforest property, Rainforest Hideaway offers unique jungle-style accommodation. Our hosts were gracious to aid us in all of our travel issues. Our flight into Cairns left my bag back in Sydney and continued to cancel flights in which my bag would fly on. Throughout this process of coordinating me gathering all my belongings Sally was so gracious and helpful coordinating with the airport and arranging pickup while we enjoyed the local environment. Our hosts were so approachable, the tour on the river was a walk from our private accommodation. The morning teatime outside on the terrace overlooking the rainforest/river was an amazing way to wake yourself up. We even saw crocodiles from the limited portion of river we were exposed to. The bed was very comfortable and accommodating. The room was cosy and we fell asleep to the sound of the rain and animals. They had everything we needed and assisted when we did not. This was the favorite accomodation of our trip throughout the Eastern Peninsula of Australia and both North and South Island of New Zealand.
