Madam Saddler - On Fraser Clunes is located in Clunes and offers a restaurant, a garden and a tennis court. The property has garden views and is 29 miles from Hepburn Springs. Everything about this property was excellent. From Sam’s greeting on arrival through to departure we felt spoilt in this divine cottage, a mix of exquisite old world charm exacting its era but tricked up with every mod con you could desire. Location couldn’t be better. If your looking for a treat to remember, this is it.
Located on a trout and sheep farm, with views of the valley, Tuki Retreat offers self-contained cottages. The cottages are nestled in the middle of the property, on the edge of a private lake. Everything starting from food, stay and especially fishing, was amazing.
Clunes is a town with a lot of grand old buildings, and a rich early mining history. Is a town that would enrich peoples knowledge of early years of the gold rush era, has farmers markets, and good eateries.
The historic buildings were just gorgeous, and the feel of the town was very relaxing and very easy to get around as every thing is close. We ate at Quigley & Clarke which I had researched on line & we were very happy with our brunch Not a lot to see but then Daylesford, Creswick, Maryborough are not far away and all of them have different things to offer & worth the visit as well.
Gorgeous little country town with very friendly helpful people, plenty of wonderful dining places to choose, great place to relax, excellent links to Ballarat and Melbourne with train and sky bus timetables
The town is lovely and clean people very friendly. We came for booktown weekend. We ate in town for lunch and dinner Friday and Sat night but nothing was available Sunday night. Went to Cresswick Farmersarms for dinner which was suggested by about three different people and was also very nice.
Visit all the cafes - Asian eggs at Quigley and Clarke. Iced coffee and lollies from Widow Twankys. Great wine from Mt Beckworth wines. To finish a real country pub meal from “The Nash” where you will find great hospitality from John and Jen. Make sure you go for a walk along the walking track up to the old mine, down scenic road back to Queens Park. And don’t forget to just say hello to everyone along Fraser Street because they’ll always say hello back.
