The chalet was lovely! Spacious, with in-house jacuzzi, and an electric fireplace and a mini kitchenette. Everything we needed. The property has an on-site restaurant, which is helpful since there aren't many restaurants around, and almost all run at full capacity - which makes all of them pricier. Food is great! The staff is super nice - Tais at the front desk even treated us to a complimentary wine when she found out one of us was celebrating our birthday. Thank you!

Very cosy and quiet. The firewood place was very nice and useful to keep the place warm. There is also a heater that helps the place staying warm. Well equipped kitchen, although I could not know how to use the oven. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, so just ask. I really appreciated having small light points, helping to the sense of relaxing.

The timing of our trip and very little crowd was the best part. Having pretty much Dove lake to ourselves was amazing. The weather was a bit so so but it’s was all prt of the experience. It’s an amazing, beautiful place. A must is to do the dove lake circuit and the Roony Creek to Dove lake. Walks are fairly easy and 80% on boardwalks. Marion’s lookout is a definite for next trip. Don’t forget to also do Devils @ cradle for amazing wildlife experience

It is a special place but visitors need to know that there are no additional facilities there. Ensure you have a full tank of petrol and purchase some goodies to take with you because once you are there you are a "trapped" audience. Prices are high and variety is not great.

One of the best World Heritage Sites there is!

One of the best World Heritage Sites there is! Stunning days no matter the weather! Be prepared if you are going to do any of the longer walks and follow the directions of the maps and staff. We eat at Peppers up the road from where we stay, they have a fantastic tavern there. There is so much to do for couples and families!

Cradle mountain a place must visit when you are coming to Tasmania. Wombats are very cute animals to see them there especially you can spot them at Ronny Creek before sunsets but need to drive into the park very carefully after the shuttle bus stop operating at 430pm.

    Pleasantly surprised.

Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful location, stunning rooms and a good restaurant. Would like to see the restaurant open for breakfast. The buildings were very appropriate for the location. Blend in nicely. Had dinner in the restaurant. Staff are under under-skilled but very friendly and tried very hard. we had a good meal.

I love the short walks available for mobility impaired people, as well as the many other tracks for fitter people. Scenery is lovely and the ever-changing light is magical. I really enjoyed wandering around Waldheim Chalet area and meandering along the Weindorfer Forest Walk where I found lots of fungi. The fagus at this location was easily found and captured by camera. Also great were public toilets located near the Chalet. I love frost and I was lucky to get some interesting frosty pics on the ground.

Our room was very comfortable. The hotel feels pretty upmarket, and has a spa and different meal options available. We had the buffet breakfast & at night were happy with the food choices from the bar (oh, and the beer and mulled gin!). Log fires were warm and cosy. We enjoyed the bush views from the back deck over a quiet beer after a long day of hiking at Cradle Mountain (tourist info centre barely a kilometre down the road).

The location is amazing, right on the doorstep of Cradle Mountain. Lots of short walks right from the hotel which was also really good. The room was really nice but the TV didn't work and they couldn't resolve this during our stay. Day spa was amazing, great massages and the santuary was well worth it.

Great location if you are looking to visit cradle mountain. Facilities are basic but clean and warm. The dorm room cabins are quite small for 4 people and bathroom access is outside. More car parking spaces are needed for the dorm cabins.
