This is a very sweet cabin nestled in the forest with amazing animals all around. We were visited by pademelons and black currawongs every morning. Very comfortable beds, very clean, warm and comfortable, reception staff welcoming and helpful and attentive, super close to transport bus to park and information centre, so relaxing and cozy. We loved it!

I LOVED staying in the premier cabin. The photos are accurate - it’s stunning in a stunning location. We had our “own” pademelon visit us every morning. Loved the welcome food and wine, fireplace, bed, lovely bath and the views.

It's not far from Cradle Mountain though we had to drive a bit more from the main road entrance. Anyway, That's also one of the reason you should come to stay here as it's close to the nature and so quiet at night. We're also super lucky to capture the Aurora Australis from here. We had an incredible stay here.

What Guests Said About Cradle Mountain:

We trekked the iconic Dove Lake circuit.

We trekked the iconic Dove Lake circuit. The trail was quite nice, but the lake and mountain itself are not particularly scenic in a “world context” (i.e., compared with sites in New Zealand, the Alps, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc). However if you go to Tasmania, this is considered a top sight. In good weather, Cradle Mountain is reflected in Dove Lake, but the water was choppy and the skies were cloudy on our visit, so we did not experience this. We did enjoy the Tasmanian Devil feeding sessions at Devils@Cradle. The conservationist was super knowledgeable and engaging, and we learned a lot! They have about 10 Devils and some spotted quokkas in the program.

Cradle mountain is beautiful and wonderful.

Cradle mountain is beautiful and wonderful. We have been there on several occasions including when we were engaged. The environment is peaceful and probably better in the cooler conditions (Like now) when there are fewer tourists around. The rain adds a special feeling when walking around Dove lake. Plenty of pleasant walks around cradle mountain.

The selection of walk was excellent.

The selection of walk was excellent. Signage for access to some of the walk was not optimal. There needs to be a display of weather information for the day, which walks are closed and more prominent information on dress attire.

The timing of our trip and very little crowd was the best part. Having pretty much Dove lake to ourselves was amazing. The weather was a bit so so but it’s was all prt of the experience. It’s an amazing, beautiful place. A must is to do the dove lake circuit and the Roony Creek to Dove lake. Walks are fairly easy and 80% on boardwalks. Marion’s lookout is a definite for next trip. Don’t forget to also do Devils @ cradle for amazing wildlife experience

It is a special place but visitors need to know that there are no additional facilities there. Ensure you have a full tank of petrol and purchase some goodies to take with you because once you are there you are a "trapped" audience. Prices are high and variety is not great.

One of the best World Heritage Sites there is!

One of the best World Heritage Sites there is! Stunning days no matter the weather! Be prepared if you are going to do any of the longer walks and follow the directions of the maps and staff. We eat at Peppers up the road from where we stay, they have a fantastic tavern there. There is so much to do for couples and families!

We loved our stay at Discovery Parks Cradle Mountain. We stayed in the standard cabins and found them really good and comfortable for two adults and three teens. Beautifully clean and warm and cozy with a lovely fire. The cabins are located right across from the Visitors Centre and there is a great little shop for bits and pieces at reception. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend this place more!

Perfect location to go to the tazzie devil sanctuary, and catch the shuttle to dove lake to see cradle mountain. Free wifi in club house, non in rooms, no TV either no phone access . Wildlife active at night, saw devils, wombats and a platypus (in the hotel pond). Gas open fire in room, lovely and warm, beds comfy. Free washing machines and dryer.

Great hotel for our visit to Cradle Mountain. Breakfast options were extensive and also enjoyed a lovely dinner. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the young guy on reception. He is a brilliant ambassador for your hotel.

The cabins were so cozy! Felt very homely. Comfy beds, loved the wood fire. Had everything you needed for cooking. Short drive to the national park and also various restaurants in the nearby hotels if you don’t want to cook.
