Just an amazing place to visit with so much to see if you love outdoors, swimming, bushwalking and sunshine We rented a 4WD which I think is a must if you don’t have your own Book a limo transfer from airport to ferry - cheaper than the resort bus transfer and way more comfy and convenient
I love Fraser Island This is my 3rd time but first time with kids some 18 years later...it is an amazing place and would recommend to everyone to come and enjoy at least once in your life...but..you will want to come agsin and agaon
When the tide is low, it is amazing to drive on the beach, the lake Makenzy is incredible, but the Champagne Pools are a bit disappointing... But the rainforest is really nice too. Overall I wished I could have explored more.
Definitively a must do ! The only way to do it = it’s by yourself ! Rent a 4WD and spend a day on the island. Enjoy a ride on the main beach (it’s really easy and there are a lot of other véhicules). And take your time to enjoy Lake Mackenzie ... it’s absolutely fabulous ! Take your lunch - start from the mainland - take the first ferry - spend the day on the island - take the last ferry back to the mailand. You will avoid non-necessary expenses from the “resorts” on the island.
Pool areas were nice. Maheno restaurant was good value for meal deal. We had our own 4wd as the tours seem expensive. The walk around the resort walk areas was good to get out for awhile as we had rainy weather

Lovely place for a holiday with the family, just next to the beach in a secure compound, swimming pool and stunning views. I did consider it slightly over priced though compared to hotels and apartments in cities, but I guess the remote location does increase costs. I would stay again for sure, very friendly staff and willing to assist with anything, give you basic but very informative tips.

The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Our friendly hosts Karen & Tony gave us great tips on what to see and do while on Fraser Island, including help with the tides for our beach trip up north. A great holiday experience and we would highly recommend Apurla Island Retreat to anyone considering holidaying on Fraser Island. Tony & Michelle Nash

Happy hour at the cocktail bars where very nice but they were under staff at the bars any time of the day. Food was very good and fast service, also loved the salad bar. House keeping where very friendly and did a great job but I wouldn't bath my dog in the spar let alone have a spar myself.
