The Grampians National Park is excellent for walking and hiking at any time of the year. Halls Gap has a variety of accommodation types from camping to higher end. There are various places to eat, from usual so-so pub food to good quality food including vegan. We are at the Kookaburra which had excellent food (including vegetarian) served with delicious vegetables rather than chips and The Spirit of Punjabi which always serves excellent food (by robot now!). It also has a range of delicious vegan dishes. If you are into art and creativity check out Grampians Textures and Grampians Brushes - both are packed full of excellent workshops.

There are enough shops and bars for a short stay, and the location is excellent for exploring the trails in the area.
The tourist information centre was helpful but wasn't quite up to speed with some trail closures which appear.tto have been made some time ago.
Overall Halls Gap is a great place to stay for an adventure break.

I love the Grampians.
I love the Grampians. Lots of lovely walks and scenery and Halls Gap has great restaurants. Unfortunately the cultural centre is closed and sone of the galleries in the areas were not open . But the wineries are worth a visit and certainly the Hall’s Gap pub. Excellent chef with great food and views .

Halls Gap Zoo was excellent - casual and all the keepers were very friendly, informative and helpful.
The many local sights were amazing.
Beware! Most businesses close early - not easy to find food after 6 pm!
The boutique shopping area, although small, was excellent.

The swimming pool was awful. Looks like they never clean it.
The swimming pool was awful. Looks like they never clean it. The staff were not friendly at all. Don't rely on the pictures. Please read others' reviews before you decide. Our overall experience was very bad.

Halls Gap is an amazing place, lots of outdoor activities, walking, riding climbing, waterfalls, wildlife etc.
Halls Gap Zoo is one of the best Zoo's I have been to, they do a great job and have a good selection of animals, we fell in love with the 2 Donkeys.
There are plenty of great places to eat, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
We would highly reccomend a stay in Halls Gap but do your research when it comes to accommodation options, we have experienced great accommodation at times and not so great other times.
My family and I love Halls Gap and after trying a few accommodations over the years found The Halls Gap Motel and have never looked anywhere else. The owners are beyond kind and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable! You can easily walk to town and restaurants. And at night, when the weather suits, the fire pit is such a highlight. Kangaroos around you, toasting marshmallows, sometimes meeting other guests with mountain views. We all love it!
Bed very comfy/ location beautiful views of mountains/ linked cafe ( Black Panther)great for breakfast/ enjoyed heated pool!
Stayed here early in March so headed straight back when opportunity arose( We did the Silo Art Trail with friends)- they were very pleased with their accommodation and intend to bring back family to enjoy facilities as well as visit some of the great things to enjoy in Halls Gap
We had a great time. Gorgeous and calm country side location (but with a pub/hotel at walking distance). Very short and easy ride to Halls Gap. Very friendly and attentive staff (a family runs the business). Excellent for toddlers and young children, some animals and a nice playground. The cabin was clean and well equipped. We'll go back there in our next visit.
Cosy, clean house within walking distance to all the amenities, cafes, bars and walks around Halls Gap. Wonderful log fire and comfortable beds. Clean and tidy and had some lovely visitors in the garden each morning (kangaroos). Good communication from host for an easy stay. Very reasonably priced too, I would return and I would recommend this house to others.
If you are looking for a luxury stay in the Grampians (Halls Gap) this is the place to stay. The location is perfect, both close to town but very secluded. Being fully equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, you have the option of just staying put and looking after yourself for a few very relaxing days.
The cottage and setting were perfect for a rural stay. The cottages are well separated so you feel you are alone. The grounds are abundant with wildlife. The location was perfect for exploring the northern end of the Grampians. Halls Gap is a short drive away and has several food options.
Beautiful isolated spot, lots of wildlife. Close enough to Halls Gap to get a morning coffee..
Being able to lie in bed and look at the stars was the highlight and we were so lucky with clear skies.
Beautifully appointed, off grid luxury.
All instructions were precise and accurate.
Extremely clean, comfortable and a great location for exploring Halls Gap. A well designed holiday house with all you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen, lovely fireplace and outdoor fire pit along with a great view out to the Mount William range. An easy walk into town.
we loved the location and the animals the staff are fantastic, we had a spa family room and it was awesome, we will definitely be staying here when we visit again, also the pub and its meals were beautiful with fantastic staff and great selection of beverages after the hike.
The hosts were warm, welcoming, and ensured our stay was memorable. The cottage itself was clean, well-maintained, and exuded a cozy atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. Fantastic location and just a short drive to Halls Gap.
Clean room with comfortable bed, good internet connection, parking directly in front of room. Is about a 5-10 minute drive from main area in Halls Gap and would need a vehicle to be in the area
Halls Gap Log Cabins are a fantastic place to stay in Halls Gap.
very large rooms, great kitchen, plenty of wood for the log fire, Spotlessly clean.
And only a flat 15 min. walk into town.
Great communication with owners- very attentive. Super location; house well equipped, especially the kitchen. Lots of windows and light. Cozy feel. Easy walk to town. Definitely recommend!
These cabins are well located (2 minute drive from the hustle of the main st)
The cabins are well maintained, super clean, well equipped.
