Hotel in Urangan, Hervey Bay
Set among 20 acres of tropical gardens centered on a natural lagoon, Kondari Hotel offers modern rooms with air conditioning, as well as a restaurant, bar and outdoor swimming pool. Kondari Hotel was the best value for money we ever had in whole Australia (and we travel a lot). The room was huge and very clean, we had a quiet family room with a little garden terrace. We also had dinner at the Kondari Hotel Restaurant, food was great. Staff was lovely. We would stay there again every time. We also did a whale watch tour (with Hervey Bay whale watch cruises), the tour was great during August, we saw a lot of whales and they came so close to the boat. Wonderful experience.

The Beach Motel Hervey Bay is located in tropical gardens directly across from Shelly Beach. The motel offers simple, value accommodations and is a great starting point for Fraser Island. Nothing to do with the town. Bad luck of unseasonal weather so both booked excursions were cancelled due to weather. Very disappointed to have missed our adventures. The people in the town were not only courteous and friendly but also cheerful despite the weather
Pretty & not as overcrowded as other places like GC & Noosa etc. cafe & restaurant close by via food & other venues & major shops close by via car. The morning cruise on Blue Dolphin was great. The Bear restaurant had great meals & drinks
Loved the location! lovely place to stay, right in the middle of a few shops and restaurants so plenty of choice for dinner...Beach access right across the road. Our room was very nice and clean, very comfortable, would like to stay again and next time for longer than one night
Hervey Bay was perfect we stayed down the road from the Marina, had dinner at the boat club twice excellent food service A1, then had dinner at Whale Bay Asian Cuisine the best food. Walked to Jetty Markets on the Saturday morning. Stayed at Breakfree Great Sandy Shore was little disappointed as we booked 1 bedroom apartment with spa and roof top, and found once we checked in it had a sign saying cannot use roof top, balcony was small, would have been nice to have option to upgrade or just advising us on arrival that we could not use roof top, apartment was very old with cracked walls , tv only had 4 channels.
Hervey Bay is a relaxing place to go you can do as little or as much as you wish the beach areas are good its an easy place to get around bags of shops holiday shopping gift shopping clothes shopping or everyday food shopping also plenty of eating places, travelwise we had our own car but there are plenty of public transport or hire facilities
Not enough to chose for activities, very limited. As we were told wrong time of year and covid. Which I found as a poor excuse. No real shopping centres just complex. Very few restaurants to choose from. So to me I won't be rushing to come back. On a positive note plenty of small cafes for breakfast and lunch. Beaches were nice and clean.
Urangan, Hervey Bay
Last time we stayed at Hervey Bay we had an awful experience due to the poor standards at a large hotel complex. So this time we purposefully did our homework to make this visit positive. We loved everything about Akama Resort. The apartments are spacious, light and extremely clean. The on-site management were friendly, welcoming, efficient and helpful. The resort is in a great location and we were able to easily stroll to restaurants and to the boat club.
Urangan, Hervey Bay
The check-in staff were pleasant and professional. The room was clean and spacious. The pool and restaurant area was a lovely bonus, we enjoyed a lovely meal with first-class service, however, it was unexpected to have to 'book' to have dinner in-house. Overall a pleasant stay, the location is quite far from the Esplanade, however, there are a few nice restaurants and a 'club' at the Boat Harbour.
Urangan, Hervey Bay
Room was spacious, single bed and a queen (?) bed. Lovely white linen. Just a hop, step and a jump to walk along the famous jetty and around the corner to the Saturday morning markets. Short walk to The Bayswater Hotel for dinner & drinks. Would need a car to visit the marina. Hervey Bay is well suited to families, with lots of parkland along the beach and plenty of activities for children to enjoy.
Urangan, Hervey Bay
Great hotel with smiling friendly staff. We stayed two nights in a family room, which are very spacious and clean. The kids loved swimming in the heated pool. Adjacent to the hotel Salt cafe is a great breakfast and lunch cafe. In the hotel there’s a nice bistro for evening dinner with live music in the weekends.
Torquay, Hervey Bay
The location was only a 10 mins drive away from the Urangan Boat Harbour and 1 min walk from a great Italian Restaurant (Santorini). The view from the balcony was lovely towards Hervey Bay and the Esplanade has lots of trees. The apartment was very spacious for two people - well equipped with everything you need.
Hervey Bay
It was the 8th day in our Qld trip, and the first one which made us feel like at home. Peter and Susan were great hosts. The premise was peaceful and just 5 mins drive from the Esplanade. We know where to stay in our next Hervey bay vacation.
