The location was beautiful, surrounded by nature and the stars. Friendly staff, great clean kitchen and bathrooms and really comfortable rooms with fabulous beds! Thanks, we would have liked to stay longer.

    A fantastic place to visit.

A fantastic place to visit. The rim walk was amazing, although would require a reasonable level of fitness to make the most of it. Highly recommend a helicopter ride if you have the time and budget. We used the company just down the road from the Kings Canyon Resort and they were highly professional. You get a different persepctive from the sky. We arrived on a Sunday in the afternoon which left us enough time to do the short walk along the bottom of the canyon from the visitor car park. We did the rim walk the next day and also visited Kathleen Springs. The next day we did the helicopter ride and then did a short 8 km return section of the Giles walk from the Kathleen Springs end. It helps if you have done some hiking as some of the blazes showing the trail were a little hard to locate in a couple of places. There was a lovely water hole at the end of the walk which made it well worth the effort. Highly recommend visiting. The sunsets are very pretty.

We stayed 2 nights and did 3 walks and still had lots of relaxing down time at the Resort. The highlight of course was the Canyon Rim Walk - which even my out of shape, non-exercising, 56 year old body with dodgy knees was easily able to achieve.

The whole experience of being in Kings Canyon was wonderful.

The whole experience of being in Kings Canyon was wonderful. The walks were laid out and groomed to make it easy to do on your own, although guided walks were offered. Signs along the way gave information on local floral and fauna and indigenous history. The colours at dawn and dusk were so beautiful. At this time of year - August- the desert was in bloom and the flowers and scent in the air fabulous. I highly recommend a visit. I could have stayed much longer.

We enjoyed both creek walk and Kings Canyon rim walk. Creek walk was for all fitness, and we did in afternoon around 2-3pm ( august ) For Rim walk, make sure you have enough water for the walk, try morning walk to avoid heat exhaustion. Bring a sandwich, fruit, snacks.

We loved the bush location, the excellently renovated rooms and bathrooms, facilities and friendly, helpful staff. The only minus was that the bathroom constantly omitted an unpleasant smell (bad plumbing?) and the shower was so that water ended up covering a great part of the bathroom floor.

    Kings Canyon Rim Walk

Kings Canyon Rim Walk After a 6am breakfast, we headed off to the Kings Canyon Car Park, just 10mins drive, within the Wattarka National Park to do the 3-4Hr Rim Walk graded as Moderate to Difficult. The walk can’t be started after 9am as the temperature gets too high. We started at 6:30am. OMG, what an experience, starts with a very very steep 500 steps section until you reach the rim top. It’s exhilarating. We met a few couples from Uluṟu doing the walk and other groups, everyone is so friendly. The path is well sign posted with safety signs to keep hikers away from the rim edge. You walk along the rim edge then down to the sacred Garden of Eden waterhole, very peaceful. Finally we walked along the southern wall and down to the carpark. The entire walk was approx 3hrs. We also walked the short Creek path, but it was very dry. It was a great day and ended at the Kings Canyon Bar & Grill for a well deserved drink. #DiscoveryKingsCanyon

We had a bush tent which was very comfortable with Aircon (which we didn't need, early October). Breakfast included was great with cereals, scrambled egg, sausage etc. There is a sunset view point Which was great and lots of other excursions if you want. The restaurant had nice coffee and a good choice of food. Great place to stay for Kings Canyon, which is very good and possibly better than Ayres rock.

We loved our Kings Canyon trip. The rooms looked to be newly renovated. 2xqueen bed format suited our party of 3. Food across the road was well priced and good selection. Breakfast at 6am before our RIM walk was great. The bar to watch the sunset was a lovely surprise.

Resort located close to Kings Canyon with lots to do in the evening after a long day hike up the canyon. Great entertainment at the lights and in the pub.
