Enjoy a swim in the pool or a meal on the BBQ at Cara Motel, located 5 minutes’ drive from Station Square Shopping Center. It offers rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen cable TV and a DVD player. We liked everything about Cara Motel. Room was larger than expected with table & 3 chairs. Plenty of room for luggage. Good bathroom with ample toiletries. Fridge worked well. Nice quiet convenient location. Under cover carspace right in front.

Comfortable and quiet. Security is great for a woman travelling alone. Restaurant and pub available at the hotel next door ( same owners). Lamington Hotel Motel - Detached Motel in Maryborough features a restaurant and a bar. Each motel room provides 1 undercover parking space for free. Called ahead to say I would be arriving well after check in time and they waited up for me, appreciate it :)
Offering free WiFi, a swimming pool, Maryborough Motel and Conference Center is just 2 minutes’ drive from Maryborough Showground and Equestrian Center. The smiling lovely manager man who showed me the room and made sure everything was all right.
The Anzac walk and museum is worth it. Bloody marvellous but allow more time than you might think. Mary poppins Story Bank, too tired to do it and felt ripped off. Next time! It's worth the visit but my goodness the food is aweful. Even Domino's pizza was inedible and looked like it was randomly chopped with a cleaver! Cannot recall being unable to find well cooked food anywhere else. The cuisine is frankly sadly bloody appalling.
While we did not have the time to visit properly there was so much information at our Motel, there are incredible amount of sightseeing opportunities. One of the most advertised is the Golden dunny(Cistern Chapel), however there are some other great historical and informative walks and tours in the same area. Easily a full day for active sightseers but easily 2 or 3 days to plan, visit and appreciate what the area has to offer, amazing.
There are quite a few things to do in and around maryborough. Stay clear of The local shopping centres as thats where the riff raff of the town congregate. And there unfortunately is a lot of riff raff. But generally beautiful old homes and buildings. A number of shops for lease, though it was not long ago that the town experienced multiple flooding events so considering this, I think the town is doing very well. I plan on visiting again for longer so that I can spend more time exploring the surroundings.
If you are a history buff it is well worth walking around the city to find lots of old buildings, the war museum is well worth a visit but allow at least 2 hours to see it and the river walk is beautiful. We were there for the Mary Poppins Festival so the Story Bank Museum for her is a must.
Lovely country town with buildings going back more than 140 years. A lot old country style pub/hotels and shop buildings which in their peak made this a very busy town. Beautiful gardens next to the old Court House of an era which this town has seen halcyon times of past. Local people are friendly and quite a few living in the area that have been affected by the recent floods and quite happy to talk about it in a non-melancholy philosophical way. Many were devastated by the recent floods but they are resilient and stay on in this town. If you would like to see late 19-early 20 century buildings go to Maryborough. If you are of the baby-boomer generation in Brisbane, where I am from, it brings back memories.
A great tourist information centre that ran a free walking tour. There was a lot of history to follow such as the city's development, the wall murals and the Gallipoli to Armistice Memorial walk, A novelty was visiting the cistern chapel (highly decorated facilities).
It was homely; spacious but cosy at the same time. It was well situated to walk or drive into Maryborough, an easy drive to Hervey Bay or back to the Bruce to go elsewhere. A big garden, three bedrooms with good beds and two bathrooms makes this property a good choice for a group of friends or a family but it would be a well priced choice for a couple too. The outdoor area was lovely and the provisions of milk and bread was a generous touch.
the attendant who welcomed me was lovely. Made sure i was able to lock my door and had everything i needed. It is basic, but if you are looking for cheap with a good location for a one night stay, this is the place. Just off the highway, you dont need to go into maryborough. basic amenities but for a place to sleep, its fine.
Location was great, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our children liked the pool. Not far from the town center. It had cameras for safety, the owners could monitor who was coming and going. If I need to stay in Maryborough I will be staying there again. :)
Convenient location. Maryborough is an interesting town -Queens Park and the Portside Precinct. Dinner at the Lamington Hotel was very good. Continental Breakfast offered but we opted to go elsewhere for a cooked breakfast.
Booked into the Arkana Motel for one night only. Check in was pleasant enough, nothing out of the ordinary. Motel was centrally located in Maryborough, not being too far from the City centre.
The rooms have been refurbished, it's in a great location and you have the full hotel facilities just across the car park. Great place to relax after doing flood clean up.
McNevins is probably one of the better motels and restaurants in Maryborough. Room was clean and tidy with easy parking.
The bed is very comfortable and the new decor is beautiful. The cleaners do a wonderful job, an asset for Maryborough.
The room was clean and tidy. Not too far away from Maryborough CBD.
