Merry Mary features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Marysville. Everything was perfect. The hotel provides a range of services, guided trips and activities and others that are just perfect. We did a fishing day trip (Eildon Lake). They take us there and bring us back. We didn't even have to drive! The trip included some snacks and beer/wine/soda. Just perfect. We had the night pizza that was just the best pizza I had in Australia (you let them know you want the pizza one day before). It was prepared in one of those pizza ovens that use wood/charcoal. The taste was out of this world. Even our dog had fun! He went with us on every activity we did. We are planning on going back at the end of the year and trying the Wine/beer tour (they take us to various wineries during a day trip), the BBQ and also the deer hunting with Glen.

Boasting both garden and mountain views, Amelina Cottages are just a 6-minute walk from Marysville town center. Free private parking is available nearby. Firewood was easily available for restocking and the fire was prepared ready for lighting. Heat pump was on when arrived to warm the cottage on a cold and wet day. Lots of DVDs to borrow for bad weather. Short walk to town and restaurants. Beds very comfy.
Located in Marysville, Dalrymples Guest Cottages boast uniquely designed accommodations with a balcony, fireplace and a free-standing 2-person spa bath. Guests enjoy free WiFi and free on-site... Worked very well for a group who were able to meet for pre-dinner drinks in one of the cottages. Excellent facilities and short walk to main street
Great bush waking tracks available leading out of town. Some tracks are not over walked, and you have to watch out for trail signs. Plenty of local fauna and flora to enjoy. Limited eating places, but hearty food at Pub the Duck Inn and Elevation 423, and good coffee at the bakery. Very helpful staff at the bike shop, they provided good advice on MTB tracks and walks around the hills and Lake mountain
Walking distance around town is good. Short drives to other attractions. Sculpture Garden & Steavensons Falls are great. Bakery, Fish & Chip Shop great but Hotel was a little disappointing. Would avoid going on the weekend on next visit. Only an hour or so away from city so extremely crowded on weekends. If you want a quiet stay, go mid week!
Very cute little village, has got a lot to offer, day at the river for a picnic or overnight stay with various eating places that offer great food and good entertainment. So much to see around Marysville and lots of walking/hiking opportunities or for those that love offroad biking even more, in winter Lake Mountain offers the opportunity to explore the snow and do some light skiing activities. Something to do for everyone.
interesting drive from Melbourne into the hills, good base for the area, lots of scenic drives, walks trout fishing,Lake Mountain, revived now after catastrophic fires wiped it out, including all the old Guest Houses.
Marysville is beautiful. Great if you want to walk, enjoy the serenity and relax. Enjoyed a nice 3 course meal at Radius at Vibe Hotel and some fresh fish and chips from the takeaway but decided to grab a late breakfast in Healesville on the way home at the Cherry Tree Cafe which was delicious rather than have another breakfast in Marysville. Next time we will take food as not a great deal on offer. Coffee at Fragas was good but I wouldn’t eat there again as I like the bacon cooked. Had a couple of drinks at the Duck Inn but decided not to eat there as a worker was smoking in the out door dining area and smoke was wafting our way. A drive to Alexandra provided a tasty late lunch at Grant St Grocer.
I liked Marysville before the fires in 2009. It was a cute town even back then. But now, it is so much cuter............its almost like a brand new town in country Victoria so it has a modern, well planned feel to it. I love its fresh feel. The vegetation is totally recovered and the new trees and plants in the town are already well established. There is a good selection of eateries and gift shops, a fabulous Tourist Information Office for surrounding districts and a selection of parks and trails all within easy access of the town centre. My favourited feature is the creek that meanders throughout the town, with it's babbling stones and sharp curves - it gives the place real chracter.
Had everything you needed for a comfortable weekend away. The welcome book had good suggestions of places to dine and things to do. The little extras like radox for the bath and little chocolates were lovely and appreciated. Staff were lovely and no problem to come change an empty gas bottle very promptly to use the fire.
