The location of this wonderful hotel was perfect for our trip, very close to the tram and train, easy to walk to the shopping and parks, yet also very quiet for resting. The staff were incredible and kind, particularly when my husband became ill and we needed assistance with many situations during our stay. The spa and pool were an oasis, exceptionally clean and luxurious. The wait staff in the lounge were excellent, taking care to assist with our selections of wine and food. The meals were delicious and hot, it was a very good experience overall.

This is an apartment hotel, my room was a studio with a balcony on the sixth floor. The studio is small but for a single person had enough space to never feel cramped. The rooms are well designed in the layout with a wardrobe and small desk as well as a kitchen and dining area with cooking pans, plate, utensils to make regular meals. The bathroom has a shower and nice vanity and again well designed with plenty of light. A free laundry area is available on the first floor as well as a gym. Staff are very helpful. Wi-fi was excellent. The hotel is walking distance to the CBD and popular Smith Street restaurants and nightlife as well as Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens.

FAQs about hotels in Melbourne

Buzzy Jewel of Aussie Rules

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.

Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.

South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.

Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

Melbourne, especially in the CBD area is fantastic.

Melbourne, especially in the CBD area is fantastic. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Walking distance to everything. Let's also remember how good the public transport is! Free trams in certain zones. Trains to everywhere and buses as well.

Just a Cool City although very busy in City Centre.

Just a Cool City although very busy in City Centre. But lots of events and activities to get yourself involved in. The Airport is a about 30-40 minutes away from the City. When leaving plan on getting to the Airport earlier than later as it is very busy and a lot of traffic going there at the same time as you would be. So, you don't want any last-minute panics or stress! There is plenty of public transport and all forms so I guess you can get to almost everywhere you want to go.

Melbourne was the first city that we lived in Australia, the year was 2001. Since then we could observe many changes, particularly in the excessive number of apartment buildings. The city is still vibrant and easy to move around. In summary, we still call Melbourne home.

Melbourne is a beautiful city, but even better when all the buildings are lit up for Xmas. Plenty of great cafes and restaurants. We had a very nice lunch at Vapiano Italian Restaurant, Cnr Swanston and Burke Street, Level !. Caught a tram out to a show at Chapell off Chappel Theatre which is a great venue. Jackpot Bar at the Casino also good for a drink.

Melbourne is fantastic. The Savoy Hotel WAS NOT.

Melbourne is fantastic. The Savoy Hotel WAS NOT. Trams are an amazing way to travel around the city and then into surrounding areas. Public transport is excellent. Weather is a challenge but that is part of the wonder of the city. Shopping is great so enjoy that experience. The restaurant you absolutely MUST visit is "I love dumplings" at St. Kilda. You can catch tram 96 from the city. Food is superb.

Considering where I come from, Adelaide, Melbourne is a big city with lots to do and even more to see. I was visiting my daughter, so she knows lots of great places to eat and places to see. It was perfect. To eat, if you like Italian, Capitano was excellent; it's in Carlton, I think. For a fancy breakfast, the Higher Ground, or just a good wholesome breakfast, then Tomo's is good, too, both are in the CBD. The IMAX lives up to its name. But if you want to look around or hang out, there are multitude of 'High Streets' and the trams make everything within easy reach. I like books, and Melbourne does, too. It a match made in heaven!

Rented this hotel last minutes for 11/2 day visit to Melbourne. Nice facility. Had a great view from the 27th floor. Hotel is located 500 m from the (central business district (CBD) which was very close to many attractions, bus, trains, shopping, dining etc. Located about 3-5 minutes from Yarra river. I ordered breakfast and that was delivered on time. Staff were very friendly and willing to help answer question on how to get around the city. Would def stay here again.
