Beautiful interior and excellent location. Bright, airy, good facilities and excellent pillow selection. But it was the staff and hospitality that made all the difference; so welcoming, professional and customer service absolutely the impeccable.

Great location, just off Smith Street, with plenty of places to eat and drink plus a tram not far away. The apartment was comfortable, clean, with everything you'd need including a coffee plunger and coffee. I enjoyed the balcony and the nearby pub.

It's a unique historical setting. The bedroom balcony provides fabulous views over Melbourne and the surrounding area. My room felt spacious and was comfortable. The hotel is located a short distance from the train to the city centre and the tram is even closer. The staff were helpful and courteous.

The hotel had a very hip vibe to it. Very Clean. Service was exceptional. Credits to Lara at the reception for the hospitality and exceptional service. We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our 10th Year Wedding Anniversary. We loved the attention to detail provided. And added value given. They staff prepared a cake and greeting card and offered complimentary drinks in celebration of our Anniversary. We loved their 24 hour swimming pool which we enjoyed to ourselves during our special day. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely plan to return.

Plenty of parking in the big courtyard and a very friendly welcome at the reception. We got a second floor room and were happy to have an elevator again after so many stairs in the hotels before. The rooms have a bit of a funny layout, but are nice, clean and quiet. The neighborhood is great - just walk north to Little Italy and you have dozens of restaurants to choose from, or walk south and you're soon in downtown and at the free tram stations. The hotel also has its own wine bar and restaurant, which we enjoyed one evening - decent choice of wine and food and nice staff. We will stay here again, when we come back.

FAQs about hotels in Melbourne

Buzzy Jewel of Aussie Rules

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.

Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.

South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.

Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

Melbourne is thriving, modern architecture is astonishing; however, the costs of hospitality services have skyrocketed, and Lygon Str. went down noticeably with respect to the quality and prestige of the eating places - they are slowly converting into a medium to lower quality spots. This is an observation accumulated after the 5-years interruption of visiting Melbourne.

I've only been to Melbourne like 4 to 5 times, mostly for shopping. and I'd say it's better than Sydney. I like how accessible public transport is, and didn't need to rely on Uber that much (Though I did on some cases). I love how Southern Cross Station would greet me each time I go out the Train from my hometown. My favourite places to go there would be walking around the CBD. Just checking out some shops outside, and visiting Melbourne Central would also be superb. I would also add Hosher Lane, it's a great spot for taking pictures if you like the aesthetics of Graffiti Street Art. Walking around would also be great specially near the stunning view of the Yarra River near the bridge past the Flinders street station. When we/I go to Melbourne, would personally look for anything with rice (Yes, I'm Asian). I would recommend Pepper Lunch. But sometimes, when I do travel alone, I'm okay with not eating rice, I would just buy any food I can see. It's quite easy to get around Melbourne because of the trams, but it's not good when there's any disruption, like there's some instances, you'd have to walk a kilometre just to go the next stop just because the tram line is being blocked halfway through because of an event lol. But seriously, if I would visit Melbourne again. I would visit the arts precinct near Flinders and visit the Melbourne Museum. There's still lots of places I'd like to go in Melbourne.

Love Melbourne.

Love Melbourne. I grew up in this city but for the past 18 months I have been living overseas. So to return as a visitor really opened my eyes to all the things that make this city great. Coming back gave me a chance to explore the city through the eyes of a tourist and I appreciate how beautiful this city is...the standout are the iconic laneways and the Yarra. Love the coffee and food culture...

My wife & I stayed overnight at the Quest East Melbourne, mainly for its proximity to my medical appointments, BUT I have also stayed many times for my work as well and I always come back in preference to others as the staff are a pleasure to deal with and the rooms are very well equipped and well appointed. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Quest East Melbourne for anyone that wants superior accommodation in Melbourne, as a matter of fact I have already booked another stay there next week.

The city has many cultural attractions, lovely parks and a large number of good retaurants and bars along the river. It also contains a mix of old historic buildings and some ultra modern high-rise riverside buildings in the old docks area. Its great to go for a early morning walk along the river in either direction (but be a little wary of the rather fast moving bicycles which use the same tracks as pedestrians) The tram system in the centre and the train services to the suburbs necessitates the purchase of a "Myki" travel card but the systems are inexpensive to use and are very good. There is also a free tram loop service in the city centre.

The staff were all very warm and approachable. I have received attentive service from Mr Godwill and his team: Catherine, Angelina, Shivani, and the rest. Kudos to them !! The location was awesome, close to the Melbourne city (CBD), QV Market, and 10 minutes walk to Spencer Street Station, where one could go anywhere because of country trains, metro trains etc..... and even Sky Bus to Tullamarine International Airport. Great accommodation and great staff !! :0)

Front desk staff were very friendly and accomodating at check in - the hotel is centrally located in the CBD with a short walk down to Melbourne Central and the city, and we found it incredibly handy being close to Flagstaff train station so we could jump on trains and trams with ease. The room was basic but comfortable for a 7 night stay - it had decent amenities and was clean.
