Located in Mount Victoria, 13 miles from Katoomba Scenic World, Closeburn House provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The breakfast choice was great and presented well. There are lots of sitting areas to relax and read or chat together with friends.
Victoria and Albert Guest House is set in Mount Victoria. Boasting 2 shared guest lounges equipped with a TV and 3 open fireplaces, guests can also enjoy a meal at the Antipasto Wine Bar and... Oh my gosh! What an amazing place! We were given a great tour of the venue and told all the history. It's a grand old building, and they've done a wonderful job keeping its original olde worlde charm, without making it too modern. If you want slick/modern amenities, this is not for you. But I must say, the beds were super comfortable, the train station was very close by, but we hardly noticed the sound from the trains, and the museum down the road is well worth a look. Can't leave without mentioning the breakfast. Wow! A hot breakfast is included and it was delicious! Decent coffee too. Wayne and Derek, thank you so much for your hospitality, we will be back! Moonya Lodge in Mount Victoria has accommodations with free WiFi, 12 miles from Three Sisters Cable Car and 13 miles from The Three Sisters. The views were magnificent! Greeted by the clouds and fogs in the early morning, and fare-welled by the setting Sun in the evening. Homey and comfortable, two levels with 2 kitchens and bathrooms, suitable for extended families.
Mt Victoria is an unusual destination, not much there apart from the wonderful Victoria and Albert and a few small shops. Lot of buildings are closed or in process of restoration. It is right on the Great Western Highway, so easy to get to. Very close to some my favourite parts of the Mountains, Mt York, Blackheath, Hartley and Little Hartley, etc.
We came on a public holiday weekend so didn't get to see much. We went to RoseyRavelston bookstore experience and had a blast! Driving around Mt Victoria is easy and I highly recommend it for a quick and quiet getaway. There are tonnes of shops nearby in Leura and plenty of local cafes.
Tranquil, clean environment and what a surprise to find a vegan cafe/restaurant in the area 'Moon To Moon Cafe' which I can recommend ever so highly and I'm a *non* vegan. Just that venue and *my* stay at 'Hotel Etico' truly warrant a return.
Easy access to Hartley valley. Great blossoming trees in town with a nice park. Great lookouts in local streets. A very quiet/relaxing area' The Victoria falls walk is lovely too-with refurbished stairs to make the steep walk easy.
Staff were super helpful and went way beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. From setting up our dinner reservations in the restraint to organising an early full breakfast to suit our early departure schedule on sunday morning.
Very quiet pretty & historic mountain village. One cafe. Two guesthouses. Second hand store. An art deco cinema! Easy access to National Park and many walks. Train station right in village with museum.
1. Great food, love the Beef Bourguignon very much even we are not very fancy at western food. 2. We love that we can always get hot water, cold water, tea and milk in the dining area. It is even more convenient than in a 5-star hotel that you need to boil water yourself. 3. Very considerate - my wife said this. I didn’t realize at all. The electric blankets are intentionally bought as 2 separate ones because one may want to switch on while the other may not.
A friendly old fashion country hotel. The breakfast was better than many 5 star city hotel offerings. Easy listening Saturday night entertainment was a pleasant surprise.
Well maintained hotel with a lot of charm and character. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and great breakfast.
Convenient, better than a hotel
