Redgum Hill Country Retreat is a country-style rural property set among 11 acres of woodlands and gardens. Redgum Hill Country Retreat is not far away from Perth. We stayed at the villa which is perfect for two families. We like the privacy of the villa and beautiful garden with plenty of birds and kangaroos around.
Nannup is about 45 mins drive from Margaret River. Great simple town as a stop over. Beautiful scenery. Breakfast at Blackwood cafe, very Friendly waitress. Great place with children as there is no traffic.
If you feel like you need a break away from the city life, Nannup is a lovely little town to visit. Very clean and pretty, not many shops but enough. The cafes serve very nice cakes, scones and coffees. There is some night life in the local hotel and the new Nannup Brewery. There are lovely bush walks, a river for canoeing and a local swimming spot. We will be visiting Nannup again.
Nannup Music Festival (our 5th) sole reason fore the trip this time. Lots to see & do even if festival sold out (as it was again this year very early). Very quaint and hospitable town any time of year.
Nannup is a beautiful quaint little town in the South West of Western Australia. Lovely shops to explore, cafe for coffee and lunch also a hotel. The evening wood fired pizza was great. There are beautiful spring gardens and Holberry House garden is worth a visit. The drives through the bush has a magic feeling and there are bush walking trails. Don't forget take your camera.
Just a delightful place, plenty of parking, friendly people also a “dog” friendly town. Most things are in walking distance. We tried various places for meals but Pickle and O was my favourite. What would I avoid? Requiring a meal in the evening! If you didn’t like going to the local hotel then you was stumped.
We attended for a weekend of the Flower and Garden Festival which had been extended to 6 weeks due to Covid-19. The main street was very attractive with flowering tulips , azaleas and camellias. A great effort from the Festival Committee. The main street buildings have a quaint country style too. A couple of shops to browse for local souvenirs, food and art. There were about 3 cafes, which were great for morning tea or lunch. Melo Velo is a great Cafe to eat outside in their back garden, just soaking up the relaxing country vibe. Their lunch was our best food all weekend. Some were very low on food or closed early so afternoon tea was a challenge. Dinner was almost impossible. The Blackwood cafe specially opened for dinner twice, which was better than the Hotel. Our fellow guests did not give good reviews of the Hotel in terms of service, dining room ambiance and food quality. We ended up having take away fish & chips twice. So if you're staying for a few nights, bring your own food for dinner. There is only a very small and expensive supermarket too. We enjoyed the market stalls scattered throughout the town. The river and Foreshore Park are lovely. We enjoyed walks along there as well as the nearby Kondil Wildflower Park. The Holsworth House Sculpture Garden is recommended. We also enjoyed a short drive to the Nannup Lavender Farm for lunch and some Open Gardens. Try to visit the Antiques shed - it's amazing to browse, especially all the old books. We'd recommend visiting Nannup when there's a special event on, but I wouldn't stay for more than 4 nights.
Amazing location. Beautiful to be in the forest by the side of the river. Lovely area with cute town of Nannup a short drive away and lovely bushwalking also nearby (we spotted wallabies and emus along with many birds). Basic cooking facilities available (bbq, hotplates, toaster oven) but enough for simple meals. Well maintained and clean composting toilet. Hot water in the shower. Very comfortable bed and we appreciated having plenty of blankets as it was a bit cold. We would definitely come back next time we are in WA.
Stunning scenery, the gardens are beautiful, loved the sculptures. Right in town however you would never know due to the acreage of the property. Fabulous country charm, facilitates and Louise is lovely. Comfortable bed, ensuite and breakfast is a bonus. However we were so relaxed and comfortable we missed our first breakfast ! Big bonus, we commented on how lovely one of the plants in the garden was, Louise potted some up for us to take home. Nannup memories right there.
Loved the friendly and welcoming hosts. Beautiful farm countryside, animals and wildlife. Lots of kangaroos and emus. Excited to see blue wrens and red robins. Very clean and cosy with a great log fire. Had everything we needed. Beautiful location and not far from town. Enjoyed the Nannup Flower and Garden Festival🌷.
The view from the window, location to Nannup, cycle and walk trails, east drive to Margaret river, Busselton and Augusta or anywutou want to visit. Had everything we needed.
We really liked the cottage we stayed in.
Back to nature. Spa on the deck.
Great property, very well set up for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful naturescape.
Everything about the farm is very relaxed
A beautiful hideaway surrounded by glorious tree's and wildlife. A place where you don't want to leave and don't need to leave. I could not recommend this beautiful stay enough especially for those wanting to escape reality.
The room was spacious and was decorated really nicely. The room stayed very cool on a 40 plus day due to the trees around it. We sat out on the balcony and watched the bobtail, butterfly’s and birds.
The cabins were clean, spacious and well equipped. The extras in he kitchen (oil, salt, baking paper, etc) made being self sufficient very easy. Loved seeing both the native and farm wildlife.
Breakfast was good with variety of choices. Hosts were a fountain of knowledge on what to do and where to go.
Beautiful location, spa on the deck and so much privacy
