The studio apartment was very well arranged, so it felt quite spacious. Everything was stylish, modern and fresh, with some touches that tied in to the heritage of the building. In three weeks of travelling around South Australia this was by far the best place we stayed.
A very friendly town, assistants in the shop very welcoming.

We really liked the whole story, right from check in to the check out. Had dinner at the restaurant and were super impressed. Really disappointed that we didn’t have breakfast there as we hit the road early .

Naracoorte caves were fascinating - recommend Alex cave, Fossil caves and Bat caves. Great information of the time of the megafauna in Australia and the discovery of the fossils. Learnt about the marsupial lion and Wonambi. Good base to explore the Coonawarra wineries, Mt Gambier and Robe. Good pub meals at Bushmans Arms Hotel in Naracoorte and the Royal Oak Hotel in Penola.

I loved our long weekend in Naracoorte.
I loved our long weekend in Naracoorte. You cannot visit without checking out the caves. The Alexandra Cave and Victoria Fossil Caves were great. The tour guides were lovely, engaging and very knowledgable. The "rooftop walk" was quite nice, with information stations in several places. Carolynne's Cottages is a beautiful accommodation option if you're looking for a tranquil location to unwind. We made a day trip to the Tantaloona Cave (you do not want to miss this - the most beautiful cave in the area) and then onto Mt Gambier to see the Blue Lake, the view from Centenary Tower, Umpherston sinkhole and Engelbrecht Cave.

Naracoorte is a lovely small town in the SE of South Australia that is well worth spending a night in when visiting the area. Over summer the Naracoorte Swimming lake is a huge, clean clear blue free swimming facility kids and adults will love in the summer. Naracoorte has a great selection of retail stores ranging from quality clothing to fantastic country butchers - perfect for stocking up bbq supplies while travelling - I 100% recommend.
There are large parks and reserves, 2 open pubs that have a great relaxed atmosphere.
Overall Naracoorte is a great place to stop and relax for a few days before heading to the coast/world heritage Naracoorte Caves.
There is a lot of history to explore around Naracoorte, great walking trails in the town, and it is an overlooked destination that should be on more peoples radar as a quiet, relaxing, pretty town only 3.5hrs from the South Australian capitol Adelaide.
There is a taxi service in Naracoorte, and bus tours to the wine regions of Wrattonbully and Coonawarra 30 mins south of the town.
There are no public transport options in Naracoorte.

really enjoyed our stay , we would have liked another day, we wished we had taken the river walk , to the right and not the left . by they time we realised it was getting dark , and the next day there was a fun run , despite that I would have love to have participated , had I Known , but . we missed the animals , they were hiding . we hope to come back . it seemed a nice wee town
The park is beautiful, surrounded by nature and wildlife with walking trail. It was very quiet and peaceful with lots of activities to do if you choose to. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and had everything you need for a short stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Naracoorte is a lovely town and everything is within walking distance from the park. 😊
The Avenue Inn exceeded our expectations it felt more hotel than motel. The décor was well presented and the room fresh and clean. The bathroom was small but well appointed and great hot water service.
The ease of access and township of Naracoorte- shops and facilities were close by - drive in access very good - car parks were wide easy to access - staff were very friendly and helpful
